Call me childish, but this anime was very good and underrated.  ****Full disclosure: I did play the video game, but I am rating this on just the anime.**** Unlike other video-game based animes, like ace attorney, this one actually gets it right. First of all, the concept is cool. It is a sci-fi-based hacking theme, but with humanoid representatives  of "programs.'' There are net battles with users going against one another with battle chips. It is almost like a cybersecurity version of the "osmosis jones" movie- but better. There are some unrealistic outcomes- just like any other fiction-based manga/anime. Megaman is a little OP, considering he can take upon himself other program’s powers but there are other powerful characters to balance it out.  The characters develop between this anime and the following anime: “Rockman/Megaman Axess.” Some of the evil characters are more relatable and actually turn into allies in the future. I love how they are not one-dimensional.  The development and storylines are good and the ending was also more realistic than other sci fi-based stories. 8/10 Trust me, I have seen almost all of the other megaman/rockman series with Lan as the main character. This is the best of all of them, but I can also cosign the axess one.
