Nyan Koi! and Mayoi Neko Overrun! share the same crazy neko-nyaaa~ feeling, they make you wanna repeat 'Nya~' again and again, even more - they make you see cats everywhere. Both are shounen romance comedies, they made by the same studio - that's an important fact too. Oh, and don't forget about tsundere characters! ^^

Zaig Zaig says...

Both are cat-based anime. These two are essentially romantic comedy harems but still hold their own when speaking about the romance and comedy departments separately. If you like yourself some nekos, dash to the other awaiting you to pick up.

Geon Geon says...

Both have the protagonist set as a rather timid wishy-washy character with a ddep heart who is surrounded by characters who love cats. The only area the two differ in is the fact Nyan Koi's protagonist Junpei is allergic to cats which causes him various problems whilst Takumi loves cats.

Both series are quite similar - boy X "adopted" mysterious girl, so he made his tsundere-like friend jealous. Another love competition has begun.

The lead female in each of these series is a cat girl, each of these series has a lot of harem antics, and some light comedy. If you enjoyed one series, you'll like the other.

Nop Nop says...

They are both about an Animal-Girl (thou in mayoi neko overrun it isn't confirmed that she is a animal) combination being brought in the live of a boy, and they both come in the same school (again there is the difference that in tayutama this is only for a short while) and in both the anime the animal-girl falls in love with the main character (thou in tayutama it's more about the relationship and in neko overrun it's more... random) and last but not least, both are (or at least can be) very funny and worth your time (if you don't mind the Ecchi)

Both, Mayoi Neko Overrun! and Hayate no Gotoku have lots of similarities.

Personalities of the main characters are alike. For example gentle, weak-looking protagonist, who despite his look will always find a way to help someone in need. In Mayoi Neko it's Takumi, and in the Combat Butler it's Hayate;

a princes-like girl, who posses enormous amount of money, but is really stubborn and noisy - Nagi from Hayate no Gotoku, and Chise from Mayoi Neko. Other characters have similar personalities too, but I think 2 examples are enuogh.

The second thing that makes these animes look similiar are its jokes.

The third similarity is that there are a lot of refferences to the otaku life and other anime.

These 3 reasons should be enough to make you want watch either one of them if you haven't yet. Mayoi Neko Overrun isn't as hilarious as Hayate no Gotoku, but it's worth trying, because there is always a chance, that You will like it.

Each series focuses around a harem and involves a large amount of comedy and allusions to other anime. Further, each series focuses on a guy oblivious to the fact that the girls around him all like him and have several other similar characters floating around.

Kannagi

Kannagi

Mikuriya Jin makes a woodcarving from the remains of a guardian tree, but he gets much more than he bargained for when girl materializes from the statue! Her name is Nagi, the troublesome and at times violent deity of the land; and with nowhere to go, she announces that she will stay with Jin. Now, with Jin’s help and a magical girl wand purchased at the local convenience store, Nagi aims to exorcise the impurities that are infecting the land. Though when the sacred tree is finally uprooted, it is only a matter of time before her powers will diminish; thus, a new object of worship is required, and what better object than Nagi herself! However, obtaining your goal of becoming a popular idol is not so straightforward, especially when you have to compete with your sister, who is unwilling to share her fan base and plans to sabotage you at every step!

Each series focuses on a guy, finding an odd girl, and a lot of other girls that already have feelings for him. Apart from that, many of the females in each series have a similar back story and personality, and each series is a comedy  that has a lot to do with otakuism.

The main similarity with both anime is that the girls all like the main guy, but the guy is clueless about it. With some not honest with their feelings and others very open about it, it is very hard for even the viewers to choose who he should be with. Also, another similarity is that the main character keeps getting hit by the tsundere girl, only in MM! he enjoys it more.

Working!!

Working!!

Self-professed lover of all things small and cute, Souta Takanashi finds himself dragooned into working at the Wagnaria family restaurant by the diminutive and vivacious Poplar Taneshima. Though the pay is reasonable and the clientele polite, the high school student is often at his wits' end when dealing with the quirky staff. If the indifferent and street-tough manager, katana-carrying floor chief, and terminally weak Poplar weren't enough, Souta frequently fears for his life, as every encounter with the violently androphobic Inami ends in injury. How long can he survive before the combined stress and harm do him in?

Greatly similar, what they have in common is the ability to make you laugh, a workplace setting with chefs, giving a "sudden appearance" female character a job and home at the place of working, a weird sister(s) to the male protagonist, a traveling boss who randomly comes and leaves the store/restaurant, and a petite high school girl who has a complex about her height. The amount of romance is more or less equal in Working!! and the harem Mayoi Neko Overrun!.

Both are quite funny comedies with cute characters. They don't rely on much of a story to be entertaining and focus on just being fun that rely on dialogue, characters, and their interactions to be entertaining.
