If you like Maple Town, then you'll also enjoy this little movie.
The Animal Crossing movie is a heart warming tale about a young girl named Ai who leaves her home and moves into a little town called Animal Village, where are the residents are, of course, animals!
The story line is pretty simplistic and sweet, but then again doesn't that go the same for Maple Town? Plus the end of the film has a neat little plot twist that'll make you smile. (I sure did!)
And if you like The Animal Crossing movie, then you'll find Maple Town a charming show that is a little like a slightly watered down version of the movie.
Not that MT can't stand on it's own, the show has many characters, most of them are really lovable and only one or two will make you think, 'Okay, this is a little two sweet for me.' (Namely Patty Pig and her parents.)
The only problem is Maple Town isn't easy to find, but if you can find it and you like Animal crossing, then I highly recommend it!

Both family-friendly series feature the adventures of anthropomorphic animal families living in a quaint, picturesque village setting.
When young Ami-chan and her family moved to a new home, she didn’t know what to expect, but not even in her wildest dreams could she have expected the bizarreness that awaits her. Moving her things into her new room, Ami discovers a pretty little doorway leading into the floor. Surprisingly, three creatures greatly resembling stuffed animals jumped out to greet her! Iyo the bunny, Kenta the bear and Issa the panda claim to be the Happy Aniyoko Trio, and say they live beyond the door in another dimension called Animal Yokocho. From that day forward, the three frequent Ami-chan’s bedroom, bringing with them their annoying antics, strange fun and games, and of course... trouble!
After being teased by other creatures of the forest, a rabbit starts to feel insecure about his looks. His tail is too short and his ears are too long, but what can he do about it?
"Trouble!" Sammy the Blue Jay would squawk; "trouble!" And together, Sammy's woodland friends would run and hide from the dastardly Reddy Fox. The many adventures of Rocky Chuck, Peter Rabbit, Bobby Badger and the rest of the gang are explored as the friends live their normal lives. In between hiding from Reddy Fox, surviving the seasons and learning about the dangers of Man, the gang forages, plays, and explores the Green Forest.
