I'm fairly certain that the person who came up with these commercials was either drunk or high. The premise is that there are beans (including jelly beans and some nuts) that are part shiba and know random facts. They pop up just when you're sitting down to eat, and apparently ruin your appetite.

Story: There wasn't one, but I did learn that flamingos produce milk and it's red. I'll probably never forget that as long as I live. I would say it is episodic, but I won't think you can really call those episodes. I'm not sure the purpose of the anime, other than to relay bizarre tidbits on information.

Animation: It wasn't the greatest, but it wasn't so horrible that I couldn't recognize what the artists had in mind. I think the simplistic style suited the fact that these were meant for commericals. After all, in the US, the Charmin bears are about as well drawn.

Sound: The voice acting was decent, the mameshibas sounded like moe-blobs, and the ending giggle made me laugh the first couple times.

Characters: There were humans, of all sorts, like a who's who of Japanese culture. But the focus was entirely on the beans, and their only purpose was to present information. Then again, how much depth can you give something in 30 seconds?

Is it worth watching? Yes. I would recommend watching this for the random facts and the adorable bean-dogs.

Are you on drugs?

Would you like to be?

Well, why not try out Maeshiba. This is one of those odd titles that remind me that Japan is a lot different than the rest of the world. When 59 second shorts about small beans or food that talk to you with random facts you know you are in for Oddity city.

There is no real narrative. Just understand that somehow a single coffee bean will sift away from other beans. Then that bean will look up to a character, introduce itself, and then tell the main character of this short a random fact. The fact like "hippos sweat is pink" will normally cause the main character to shade over in darkness and loose his or her appetite or close a business.

There are no real characters development.  Just quickie 1 dimensional character and a few random extras. Then there is the singular food that talks to the main character. This food is oddly dressed up to look like an animal. Not sure why, other than seeing bento boxes with food that resembles animals.

The animation is a quirky sketchy look. The end of most of the episodes is a live action still shot of the food.  It is odd, yet kinda fun.

Overall, this is a great way to remind yourself, hey Japan is odd, and maybe I am odd for enjoying this. That or I am drunk.

Weeeeeeeeee.......

Warning this Review May Contain Spoilers-

Well, beans with all the facts...this was a strange collection of short adverts, full of all the fun facts you would normally see on the bottom of a school textbook, things you really don't need to know but find them interesting anyway and I honestly think this was very cleverly put together but still not that good and this review should point out why. Also to the people who created these adverts, are you sure you weren't drunk? Like seriously, I don't think many people would come up with this while being sober>_>

STORY

Like I have mentioned, the story consists of people finding weird foods which have taken the form of weird dog-like things. And who doesn't like weird dog-like things... I mean the story was just limited to a fact-a-day there was no story. But there were quite interesting facts, I mean I never knew squids had three hearts (or whatever that one fact was). But in the end there isn't any story and if you were expecting anything big then this isn't the show you want to invest your time into.

ANIMATION

Well they kept it as basic as possible with limited details and colours but at least they were very bright and eyecatching colours...so it wasn't all bad. But like I said it was quite limited to basic expressions and beans, so detail probably wasn't the first thing to come to mind when animating this.

SOUND

Well it wasn't anything spectacular but it was pretty decent for these short adverts, honestly there isn't much to say about this section, other than the voiceacting fitted the type of show and the characters presented, they were pretty cute XD

CHARACTERS

Well there were beans and humans, honestly for what the characters are  I thought it was quite cute and fitted the basic theme of things but they were bland, especially the humans...they were pretty boring.

Anyway that finishes my review of bean fun facts XD I would only recommend this to you if you have time to kill and you don't want to start a major series but would rather waste your time on a show about beans telling you facts about squids and things.

Mameshiba isn't really an anime, so it can't be held up to the same standards. It's a set of cute and informative commercials that supply little bits of animal and food trivia. I think it's adorable, I'm not sure why everyone reviews it so low!
