Ririchyo from inu x boku ss is a lot similair to misaki form kaichou wa maid sama!. They both hide there true selfs so that they won't be hurt. They met a guy who protect them even if they don't want it. 1 good thing is that the guys don't give up. That give some funny sences in the anime.

If you liked 1 you will like the other. Both anime have humor and romance. You will enjoy it when you watch them

An ikemen gets infatuated with a girl, who finds his wooing (stalking) annoying at first. Rest assured, you will get a dollop of 'dere' as the story progresses.

savkirk savkirk says...

I loved both these amine and they, to me, are very similar. Just as Ririchiyo puts on a front and can't for the life of her seem to express how she really feels, Misaki has a similar problem (although unlike Ririchiyo, Misaki is generally well-liked and popular). The male characters also strike me as very similar (although I do think Maid-Sama did a bit better job developing the characters). They are both a sort of mystery and unbelievably devoted to the main female characters no matter how many times the female characters try to tell them they dn't need them/express disgust for them. If you liked the chemistry in Inu x Boku, you will definitely like Maid-Sama and vice versa.

jinxlandon jinxlandon says...

Both have guys that go crazy over the girl and both have quite a bit of comedy. They also have some school setting but the story lines are different so pay a bit of attention to that if youre super specific. I love the cuteness and the romance for these two and I definitely loved both.

AngelUniverse AngelUniverse says...

The characters personalities are a bit similar. ririchiyo and misaki are both tsunderes and usui and miketsukami both have that cold but sweet to the girl they love. also both possessive  and hottt as hell. Both are romance and have a lot of interesting side characters. also inu x boku has maids and stuff lol

SamKermit SamKermit says...

I guess you could say that the female lead in one says things to others that drives them away, and in the other the female lead says things to males that in turn drives them away. Both female leads developed this because of their families, whiether it be by the father leaving the family or by the family treating the daughter like a prized possession that needs to be perfect. On the other hand the male leads try to do anything for the female leads and eventually the males win their hearts and love, too.

Of course both anime aren't similar in sense of setting, but they are in their kind of love story. In both anime the protagonists fall in love slowly and sweetly. The anime spend a lot of time getting to know the characters and how they interact with eachother while we see how the main characters slowly move towards eachother and fall in love.

Another similarity is the characters of the main characters. Shirayuki and Misaki are both very sure of themselves and they are independent women just like Zen and Usui are so sure of themselves and how they go after the women.

FairyTaillives FairyTaillives says...

both have greet romance stories, ones that you don't find easily. if you don't watch both you are really making a mistake

GrnEydDvl GrnEydDvl says...

While the setting and premise for these shows are very different, these are two of the most incredible and fulfilling romance animes I have seen.  In each of them, a strong willed and fiercely independent girl wants to create a life for herself without depending on others for help.  The girls are talented and intelligent and carve their own path despite significant obstacles placed in their way.  The main love interest is a guy who is incredibly talented, wealthy, and independent in his own right, and falls for the girl because of her drive, skills, and motivation.  The main characters relationship grows as they support and encourage each other, helping each other through difficult times, while allowing the other person to stay true to themselves and their desires.  If you liked one of the shows for the absolutely beautiful romance and healthy relationship, then you will like the other.

Same storyline, both girls have a secret and a boy,who originally have no intrest in girls, find out about it. there is no way that thee secret may come out because that would hurt the girls reputation. unlike nogizaka haruko no himitsu, the usui kinda forces misaki to hang out with him while in nogizaka haruka no himitsu it just comes naturally. off course the characters are really diff both in- and outside but, even tough i dont know in what way kaichou wa maid sama will develop, i think of you like the storyline of this one,you surely like the other

Like Kare Kano in Maid Sama the female main character has a secret she is trying to hide but a boy from her class discovers it. Similarly he keeps the secret from everyone, but over time she tells people. Like in Kare Kano you have a gentle, loving, and smart male character and a strong, smart, and slightly crazy female main character. In both series you get a great mix of romance and comedy

Korwin Korwin says...

Both shows are shoujo and tell a story about a seemingly perfect girl and a guy who gets to know their "dirty little secret" thus their tale of romance starts.

kingshivan kingshivan says...

Kaichou wa Maid-sama! and Kare Kano are very similar, though in my opinion Kaichou is not quite as funny as Kare Kano, but they have the same elements: ultra-popular boy uninterested in anyone until ultra-popular girl comes along; Ultra-popular girl puts a lot on her own shoulders but secretly is relaxed outside of school, and is worried about being blackmailed when ultra-popular boy finds out; they both use silly drawings for inner-thought moments, or rather, both have a dichotomy of fancy art and silly art that works really well for both humor and serious drama.

They are different in certain ways too: in Kare Kano, the girl has a lot of work at school, but isn't feared only respected and adored for being intelligent, helpful, and beautiful.

Vertify Vertify says...

The romance and comedy atmosphere is simiarly the same - if you've watched Kaichou wa Maid-sama, than you at least won't hate Kare Kano. Extra praise given how old the anime is.

snivets snivets says...

Earl and Fairy is a great rec for fans of Maid-sama and vice versa. The two main characters have a very similar way of interacting with each other. If that aspect of either show entertained you, the other is worth checking out.

Doremi Doremi says...

Even though the plot is totally different, if you have seen either of these animes you will love the other.

The reason for this is the relationship between the male and female MC. Edgar and Usui are both strong, sarcastic and teasing guys. They act like all they do is teasing, but behind lies true feelings. Both has sad backstories, and they look very alike besides eyecolor.

Misaki and Lydia on the other hand aren't so alike. They both are dense, and strongwilled, but Lydia isn't as psysically strong as Misaki.

They also have a hard time accepting the actions of the male MC. Being dense, and in denial the romance is a bit on hold, but both the romantic and comedic moments are lovely.

Comparing those two, it is much more comedy in Maid-sama, and more drama in Earl and Fairy. I promise if you liked one of them you will totally fall in love with the other. Or if you haven't watched any of those, it's totally worth taking your time to watch both. Espescially if you love the shoujo genre.

Both these animes have an easily flustered heroine who is stalked by a handsome lead male character who are outwardly affluent and a poor sense of "personal space".Both are fun and adventerous even though they're set in completely different time periods and countries.

Very innocent, clean, simple romances.

Did you enjoy the antics of the main characters in either Maid-sama or LoveCon? Both of these shows are notable for their energetic main characters who engage in battles of wits and will, when you really wish they'd just go out with each other already. Both are good love stories between characters who are opposites.

aminex aminex says...

Thses two are one of the cutest animes ever! it makes you laugh, cry, say "awwwww", and gives you the best feelings ever! The romance is really satisfying and the comedy is off the hook!

Ailly Ailly says...

Both are simple, honest romance anime where the main characters JUST ABSOLUTELY WON'T admit their love for each other. But you, the audience, and every other character in the series can clearly see that they are just meant to be. Expect a lot of fighting, name calling and plans to embarrass the other party with some 'Awwww' inducing, cute scenes thrown in here and there. The two series also rely on comedy for the most part, but aren't afraid to tug at your heartstrings every now and then. And don't worry, even though you'll feel the urge to facepalm yourself into oblivion during some parts, they both have a (kind of) satisfying ending. So if you liked either one of them (be it because of the comedy, romance or wacky characters), you should definitely check out the other.

HamsterPop HamsterPop says...

Though the pay is reasonable and the clientele polite, the high school student is often at his wits' end when dealing with the quirky staff. If the indifferent and street-tough manager, katana-carrying floor chief, and terminally weak Poplar weren't enough, Souta frequently fears for his life, as every encounter with the violently androphobic Inami ends in injury. So one show has the ultimate all-round student, and the other has a girl with shut-in tendencies, but both characters are competitive, driven and terribly likable despite their flaws.

Both shows have a lot of laugh out loud moments, and while Kaichou is not as crack-tastic as Yamato, neither does it fall into moralising traps like Yamato sometimes does.

Animation wise - expect characters to melt into stick-figure forms in both shows, provide comedic shojo sparkles, cross-dressing, school sports day nonsense and a decent clutch of bishies too.

Kaichou wa Maid-sama may have a dodgy title and creepy blackmail premise, but it's far from a piece of male fan service.

annalisebee annalisebee says...

It's a bit hard to describe the similarities between these two shows, because on the surface the plots are very different. However, they share a similar sense of humor-- situational comedy relying heavily on stereotypes, sexual innuendo, irony, and chibi-fied animation sequences. If you enjoy the humor in one of them, you'll likely enjoy both (as I did!)Also, there is a live-action version of YNSH which I found enjoyable, so you may want to search that out too!

SYD focuses on a all girls school, adding boys and taking a boy in as a student council member. Maid-sama is an all boys school that just added girls and has a girl in the student council. The series are both comedy with some romance (although maid-sama has a lot more romance).

I like both animes for their ecchi content and the perverse characters, but also for the fact, that they both take the plot and character developtment seriously. And last, but not least, the animation quality of both is orgasmic :)

In my opinion Otome Youkai Zakuro is the spiritual successor of Kaichou wa Maid-sama! (pun not intended). First of all, both are done by studio J.C. Staff and succeed each other in terms of airing (Kaichou wa Maid-sama! aired until this season when Otome Youkai Zakuro started airing). The other similarity is the romance which both anime realize in resembling fashion.

Zakuro is the spitting image of Misaki, both tend to act strong and independent in most situation but in moments of weakness they rely on their male partners/friends. And yes, they are tsundere towards the  main male characters of the show. Agemaki and Usui are more or less perfect and a showcase examples of bishounen characters, they even slightly match in appearance.
