Completely and utterly heartwarming. I could not recommend this more. The minor characters tended to be cliche (Lu being the obvious exception) but nonetheless, it all paired up to be memorable anime that I know will stay carved into my noggin like Spirited Away.

To begin, this story is new and fairly unique. The art has it's own style that brings out how adorable the characters are and I feel that it has a good representation of this bubbly, feel-good movie. I absolutely loved the sound track and found myself tearing up multiple of times throughout the end of the movie because their choice of music was absolutely stunning. There wasn't that much character depth, but I think with this movie that was fine. They let the audience know enough about the characters for the story to progress in a timely manner, but still making us know a bit about each character. Overall, the scores I gave for the story, animation, sound, and characters average out to be 8.5, but I gave this movie an overall score of 9 instead because it was an amazing feel-good movie that made you feel just that. It ended in a way that satisfying and made me walked away from this movie in high spirits.  TL;DR: It's a good feel-good anime, so give it a watch!

I liked this! I watched it back in 2020 and honestly kind of forgot about it, but I recently rewatched it and kind of want to talk about it. The movie is kind of similar to Ponyo (I don’t think I even have to even explain, lmao) but it’s good in its own right. My biggest issue was the main characters other than Lu, I don’t even remember their names cause they were so bland. [from here I’m gonna be talking about specific events, so click off if you don’t wanna be spoiled!!] The main guy’s personality was virtually nonexistent and the red haired girl just got on my nerves. There was this one scene were they were playing and she stormed off after being slightly criticized, which really annoyed me. There were so more scenes that also irritated me but I’m not gonna go too in depth. I did like the port-town theme though, the setting and art was really nice. Overall It’s a good movie to watch if you’re really bored, lol.
