THIS IS A SPOILER FREE REVIEW I am perhaps a little bit biased, as I truly love this anime. It was very bittersweet to watch these nine characters that I love finally depart from the screen forever. But like true school idols, their finale was unforgettable. Story: I mean, there isn't a whole lot in the way of story in the anime in general. The basic synopsis of the movie is that the girls travel to America to help the popularity of idols, and then they return to Japan and try to decide what their future holds.  While the story is certainly not thick, for fans of the anime, this finally answers the painfully lingering question "what happens when the third years graduate?" I will not say either way what happens, but regardless of which side you want, you will be satisfied with the outcome. Due to this being the finale, which wraps up the story of µ's, there is a lot of emotion. For this, I give the story: (8/10) Animation: As the anime series, the animation is certainly nice. Pretty crisp and clean during most of it and added 3D models meshed nicely with 2D animation during the music scenes. The animation was well done, as usual, and the 3D did not feel clunky or even out of place like it does in some anime. For this, I give the animation: (9/10) Sound: This is it for µ's! The last songs you'll ever hear from them! Well, how are they? In a word: bittersweet. The music is absolutely phenomenal, especially the final song (this does not count as a spoiler, if you think there isn't gonna be a last song in this anime then you really don't think that far ahead). It is such a stir of emotion, but there is so much life and vibrance in the songs. There is a passion and a life in them all; knowing these are the final songs gives them much more life and feeling. For this, I give the sound: (9/10) Characters: Every now and then, you stumble upon an anime that, while maybe not the most story driven, has characters that you actually become attached to throughout the course of the series. Maybe you think of something like K-On or Anohana. You begin to feel every emotion the characters experience, you feel excited when they're happy, and you feel sad when something bad happens. Love Live is one of those anime. In this movie, there is a lot of excitement, a lot of emotion, and a lot of laughter. You realize that these nine girls mean a lot more to you than you realize. You'll always miss them, but you'll never forget them. For this, I give the characters: (10/10) TL;DR/Final Verdict: The Love Live movie will stir a lot of joy, laughter, and sadness in the hearts of all those who enjoyed the anime and the characters. The unknown future drives the story, the animation is wonderfully mixed with 3D and 2D models, the music is both incredible and saddening, and the characters, these nine girls, make up a truly unforgettable series. I highly recommend it to everyone who enjoyed the anime. For this, I give Love Live! School Idol Movie: (9/10).
