Satisfying Conclusion?❓ (ends in nice spot. very open for 2nd season)

What is this anime?
One of the power rangers falls in love with a villainess. They start dating while keeping it a secret from the outside world.

Did I enjoy it?
It was an interesting premise about forbidden love, with almost nothing taken seriously, and most conflicts resolving within the same episode. The comedy picks up around the midway mark and I found myself consistently laughing and enjoying myself. Although this is about a romance, its more so a comedy. We don't watch the two main characters progress as a couple nearly as much as we see just everyday scenes in their seperate lives they have to deal with. Although it concludes in a nice spot, theres much more to expand on. There is no endgame currently, and no apparent goal that is being worked towards other than to "not get caught". It leaves much room open for a second season, either with the same episodic nature, or a new more plot-driven season. Watch if you want a light-hearted comedy-heavy romance.

Overall, Love After World Domination is just kind of mediocre and forgettable.

I think one of the biggest issues it has is the combining of action, comedy, and romance. Not that I think that can't be done well, but in this case it felt a bit choppy and the tone shifts often felt unnatural.

Other big issue is characters, most everyone is just kind of uninteresting. I wasn't feeling the chemistry between the leads either.

Animation is clean but generally boring. I will say, I did enjoy the opening song.

Intrigued by the premise, but ultimately underwhelmed. Wouldn't recommend.

Having just finished this one, with everything fresh. I wanted to write a review as a massive power rangers/super sentai fan. Let me start by saying this is basically a series bulit from that one joke episode in power rangers time force. Where the villianess and the blue ranger have a misunderstanding romance.

In the case of love after world domination. This concept is a whole series and the hero and villianess actually are in love. The concept itself isn't bad, when you begin to think of all the possible scenarios this opens up with the power rangers setting.

The issue here is that Love After World Domination fails to truly explore all these possibilities, resulting in creating a forgettable below average show.

To begin breaking down why.We come to the start of the show, it opens strong with action you remembered from your beloved power rangers giving you a false idea that this show will be a mix of action, comedy and romance. However as episodes go on the show distances itself from the source material this concept is bulit on. Becoming just another romantic comedy anime, the show will give you a transformation for like 4 minutes to help you remember that this show is like power rangers/ super sentai with romance. I swear if the morphers weren't on their wrists I would have forgotten at times.

You then end up wanting some action again to break down the romance a little and give us the concept the show clearly advertised. But everytime the show pumps you up for some action it does that annoying camera cut some animes do. You know the one, your about to see an awsome fight then camera cut and we see a fighter laying down defeated. It's gives the inspiration the shows do this to save on budget.

Then we come to the comedy here and honestly there's not much here, you haven't seen before. There's about four jokes that take advantage of the concept and that work. But most are just the same bad attempts at comedy like the classic boobie joke where one girl is completely flat chested and every girl around here is stacked in the boob area. You know that classic anime joke.

You will also find the narrator is really annoying here. He does this one segment called "allow me to explain" but what's so annoying about this is that he just explains stuff you've just seen or has already been explained. I wasn't sure if this is a bad failed attempt at a joke or serious. He even goes so far to explain what a date is. Giving off the impression the creators think the viewers are stupid and need every simple thing spelled out for them.

Then we come to the shows other issues more than once in the show in order for red gelato and reaper to see each other they have to use disguises. But the issue here is everytime red is in a disguise you can see the morpher clearly and every villain knows exactly what they look like having seen them everyday when they fight the heroes. So another failed idea like, why wouldn't he hide his morpher under his shirt sleeve.

Then you come to look at how the show insults the villains of the power rangers/ super sentai universe. While it's not actually connected it's clearly a throw back to it. So how exactly does the show insult the villains? Everyone who is a power rangers/super sentai fan knows that the villains are relentless in their attacks to take over the world. They attack every day and with a different monster each time followed by minions. Here it's really only the bear monster who we see in battle. However the show, introduces us to the other monsters at the evil gecko HQ. But I guess they just sit around and look pretty, because you don't see any of them fight until the last episode.

Then we come to how the show fails this concept. At first on the beginning episodes red gelato and reaper fake their fights. As the show goes on we just see them together and everyone just thinks there fighting and are to busy to check. But the whole point of the power rangers is that a team is only ever as strong as their leader  the famous red ranger. Without the red ranger the team would be lost. Red gelato disappearing every battle would cause arguments in the hero team and would be a massive issue to say the least.

But Love After World Domination fails to take advantage of this idea as well, as all the members of team gelato just assume he's fighting reaper on his own. But a team sticks together like the power rangers, you would never see the leader break formation and leave the team to fend for themselves and the team members wouldn't leave their leader to fight on his own in case he gets hurt or worse.

That's the major flaw in this show, instead of the creators tackling this idea cleverly, truly exploring what true love would be like for a villianous and hero of the power rangers setting. We are just left with the same grass date everytime which opens up with explosions from the other gelato members fighting evil.

The creators seem to finally remember they need to tackle our nostalgia and we get an action packed final episode. Making you truly feel like your watching something power rangers inspired. Geckos leader creators his ultimate monster. Soon discovering he can't control it, the villains of gecko start fighting it protecting their leader. We finally see what all the monsters can do. My issue with this scene is that the monster was created to destory the city  ,the monsters could tell their leader was fine after the hit from the ultimate monster, so why wouldn't he have told the other monsters to stop attacking it.As it's going to destory the city weather he commands it to or not. However things get personal later in this fight, as the ultimate monster eats another monster.

Eventually the monster comes against our heroes team gelato and reaper and red gelatos love ends up saving the day. Pretending to form a one time team up. Keeping their forbidden love hidden.

Overall Love After World Domination falls flat to hit its concept and truly explore the many interesting ways, you could tackle this premise. It's not terrible but it's just quickly forgettable, this anime unfortunately falls to a below average 5/10 rating.

I hope you get something from my long review, having been a massive Power Rangers fan my whole life, still watching the new material. I look forward to shows that use the super sentai / power rangers as a setting for their show. While loving the throw back that goes with it.

This one fails but I personally recommend Miss Kuroitsu From The Monster Development Department. Using the same super sentai/ power rangers setting but it's actually funny mixed with good action and a different fun monster each episode. While covering a much more wider list of topics around the setting.

Thanks for reading my review. Oh I almost forgot Love After World Dominations biggest sin you showed me a gelato megazord and we didn't even get to see it in action. Yes creators be ashamed of your sin.

Not much of a storyline but still a fun watch. The dialogue and some of the concepts are hilarious. I really got a kick out of listening to red gelato's catchphrases and loved how he thought everything reaper princess did was cute. They definitely have a wholesome relationship. Not a serious show but I still think it is worth watching.
