I watched this movie recently on a whim after seeing the intersting box art and title on the animenewsnetwork. I was proabably over estimating how much I'd actually like it... The storyline goes a little something like this. In a world in the future where everything is high-tech and monitored, Hazuki Makino is put in a group with three other students, one of which has been missing after being involved in an incident. Mio Tsuzuki who is in the group, happens to be a hacker and shows Hazuki (who also has trouble communicating with others) around town unmonitored and free. They, along with the mysterious Ayumi Kouno, end up investigating the disappeance of the last group member, Yuko Yabe, and eventually rebel against the monitored world they once belonged to. While the animation is very interesting and unique, I find the storyline to be very lacking and a little boring at times. Some of it didn't make sense and was confusing, and towards the end the movie felt very rushed. The resloution was very quick and left me with an unfinished feeling. There's nothing to special about the soundtrack to mention. There's nothing to sspecial about the characters either, although there is quite a focus on Hazuki who changes throughtout the story from a shy and unconfident girl to a more confident and independant person. Ayumi is also a center of attention towards the climax as the plot twists are revealed, and ends up being somewhat interesting as she seems to be a very strange and conflicted character who has had an epiphany at one point in her life. Although it's got an intersting animation style, the plot doesn't make it worth while. I wouldn't say this was a bad movie, but I don't think I'd watch it again. I don't believe it's worth ninety-nine minutes of your time, but if you happen to be intent on watching it, be prepared to be disapointed.
