Levius is very solid "sports" anime with the blandest possible main protagonist/antagonist duo I've witnessed in a while. The ironic thing is they have some internal characterization, but as persons they're just there.
The supporting cast is top notch though and they make it a joy to watch. The same goes for "lesser" antagonists.

It's also very interesting in technical department, as it shows the road CGI anime has come from the titles like Knights of Sidonia. Battle scenes are smooth, explosive and keep you on edge. It actually makes you hopeful for the future of the CGI animes.
(opening and ending gonna stick with you a while)

Initially, I thought this was Netflix version of Megalo Box due to the similarities between the sports and the likeness of some of the characters like Gansaku & Zack, both trainers with a patch on their opposite eye; but that is where the similarities end, this show has a different plot and focus.

The story, similar to other sports animes is mostly about climbing the ladder and is adorned with interesting sci-fi elements, boxing action & techniques, world-building, and later evolves to include a story of redemption that marks how much Levius has worked to overcome his weakness, and how this preparation has given him a chance to redeem himself from the ghosts of his past. Would he be able to do it?

The animation is one of the aspects of the show that helps bring it above average. Is not just that the 3d animation technology from Polygon Pictures has advanced enough to create something beautiful, but their aesthetics, their choice of composition for every scene, the fluidity of movement that still lets you keep track of the action, the steampunk style of the characters and their world, colors, textures, etc. Everything is visually pleasing.

The music is also an excellent choice for the series with good sound effects.

The supporting characters may be even more likable than the protagonist and play a big role in his development, they also help to bring balance to a rather dull protagonist.

The dub is great!

Levius is a "Netflix Original" CG animation that takes place somwhere in the 19th century industrial era where Za WaruDO (the world) has more advanced technology and decide to have people with robot arms duke it out in a boxing match. To be honest im not a fan of this animation style yet I was very entertained due to the quirky cast, great soundtrack and high stakes boxing matches. That said the Story answers almost all the important questions which it missed like 2 for me hence the 7 because it was kinda a usless plot twitst; Good watch, no replayability, kinda a netflix time killer anime but thats ok.

The story was alright, and honestly it wasn't even that bad. I just couldn't get past the CGI and wonky animation. The characters where meh, overall it meh. If you have nothing to watch or doing something and just want to put something on while doing whatever it is your doing then highly recommend.
