On the surface, both Kyoshiro and Kannazuki look like your typical magical girl stories. Each one also uses mecha as a plot enhancement. However at the core, both of these are very strong romance stories. If not for these reasons, they're both very colorful and beautiful to watch. So, if you enjoyed Kyroshiro to Towa  for its tale of love and tragedy, then you would also enjoy what you see in Kannazuki.

wannabeslayer wannabeslayer says...

Both are about star-crossed lovers who can never seem to be able to understand each other until it's too late. Sadly, they have to keep repeating the cycle, not allowing the lovers to be together. The tragic romances in these series makes them very similar.

Darkest Darkest says...

Both anime combine themes of relations (including between the girls) as well as battles on the giant robots

Gavia Gavia says...

Both are romance series about star-crossed lovers and love triangles. Furthermore, both have mecha battles. They also contain the same types of characters. If you like one you are certain to like the other.

Kyumika Kyumika says...

Himiko and Kaon are literally 'reincarnations' of Chikane and Himeko and many parts of them are reference to Kannazuki no Miko (Such as the Absolute Angel Murakumo) so if you want a more in-depth story for the two, you should try out KannaMiko for sure.

If you liked Kyoshiro, you would like Ayashi no Ceres too because they are both supernatural and romantic. They may seem different from the outside but they will give you a similar feeling. In these anime, the deep and complicated stories will make you watch them quickly. If you are looking for a supernatural yet romantic anime like Kyoshiro then Ayashi no Ceres is for you.

Galadriel Galadriel says...

What defines Shattered Angels and Ayashi no Ceres is both its supernatural aspect, featuring angels and especially its deep romantic element, that dominates both shows. Both of them feature complicated story which depicts the same theme, the reincarnation theme. So if you liked one, you will enjoy the other one as well.

Thanks to that lack of foresight, Shirou finds himself in a bit of a pinch when he accidentally summons a hero of the strongest class, and is sucked into the fray. The Grail grants the winner any wish they have. But driven by an unyielding sense of justice and self-sacrifice, for what will Shirou fight?

Although Fate/stay Night and Kyoshiro belong to different genres you'll see lots of similar elements in both like "mana" used to replenish their "swords", the existence of characters who would fight for the leads, love stories (although a more cheesy one in Kyoshiro) and of course the bittersweet endings.

wolfangel87 wolfangel87 says...

Fate/stay Night and Kyoshiro have similar themes and characters that fight in pairs to protect each other.  They need to use mana to replenish their 'weapons.'  The endings are also kind of similar in a way.

If you liked Kyoshiro you would also like Chobits because they are both supernatural and ecchi anime. The characters in these series have a lot of depth to them, and the animation is very beautiful and similar in both. Chobits will warm your heart like Kyoshiro did. If you liked one you may also like the other.

Green Green

Green Green

Deep in the mountains, isolated from civilization, there is a boys-only school that will finally be receiving its first class of girls in an attempt to transform the school into a co-ed one. Most of the boys have never been in contact with girls of their own age, leading to an explosion of hormonal craziness. From the sickeningly perverted fetishist guys, to a rather odd girl that seems to be chasing the most normal guy in the school for reasons known only to her, there's twisted humor to be had.

Both Green Green and Kyoshiro share the same kind of "feel". Both girls are head-over-heels for their guy and the guys are clueless at the beginning but slowly open up to them. Chances are that if you liked the romance element in one, you'd enjoy it in the other.

Both Scrapped Princess and Kyoshiro to Towa no Sora showcase fantasy and dwell on themes of predestined futures. Both are also set in a somewhat European setting and have characters that would sacrifice themselves for the sake of protecting those who they love.

Love is sacrificial; no matter how sensational that sounds, anime like sola and Kyoshiro to Towa no Sora make it more realistic. They show that sometimes, you can't have it all and that romance is not all the teenybopper type. They are both relatively sad, magical and short series.

There a lot of elements similar to both, like how the ending was executed. Also, there is the event that in a love triangle, there will always be one left behind. The pacing is also very similar along with the animation.

Girls sacrifice their past, present, and future in order to become nonhumans/mechas in these sci-fi tales about females wanting to protect who is important to them - a guy. The males are fairly useless/pathetic (more-so in Gin-iro) in these for forcing the battling to take place between others (the girls they like). Includes slight romance in each (more in Shattered Angels).

Asura Cryin'

Asura Cryin'

As the bearer of such a power, Tomoharu immediately becomes the target of various groups, including the Divine Guards, who want his power for their own. When Tomoharu befriends a demon called Kanade and she is captured by the Divine Guards, he joins the Dark Society in order to save her. Now, Tomoharu will have to fight alongside the Dark Society while he tries to find a way to save Misao and bring her back to life.
