For two funny looks at fantasy worlds with lots of cute creatures and interesting characters, check out Scrapped Princess or Kyou Kara Maou. Definitely more slapstick in KKM, but both won't fail to please.

Kyo Kara Maoh! had a similar feel to it's progression and art as Scrapped Princess. They're both fantasy series with a good sense of humor.

In both of these series, an average high school student is dragged into another world very different from our own, and put in a position where the safety and well being of the world depends upon them. Each are surrounded by a group of protectors to help and guide them, but ultimately, they are the ones who must make the decisions that will either save or destroy the world.

What happens when a high schooler is taken to another world and put into a position of power that could save or destroy a world? Both series examine this puzzler, and are very similar with the solution.

And both have a lot of very attractive bishes ^^

Both offer comedy relief throughout, but Harukanaru is much more serious and straight faced than Kyou Kara Maoh.

Amatsuki

Amatsuki

When Tokidoki Rikugou donned a pair of virtual reality glasses and entered a Bakumatsu-era exhibit at a museum, he had no idea that his life would drastically change. While walking across a bridge in the fabricated reality, Tokidoki ran across a small being and a monster called a nue - and he was promptly attacked. His eye was damaged, but more importantly, Tokidoki discovered that he was now stuck inside the "virtual reality" filled with samurai and spirits. Now, with the help of Kuchiha, a warrior woman possessed by a dog spirit; and Shinonome, a fellow student who has been stuck, just like Tokidoki, for the past two years, Tokidoki must search for the truth behind the nue and try to find a way home.

At first everything is messed up, but after awhile he gets used to the new life. The thing is that apparently he is the chosen one to get rid of the evil that's hiding in the shadows. But all is well when it ends well! In both Kyo Kara Maoh! and Amatsuki we see the development of the lead male characters who are destined to bring peace and prosperity to the other world they suddenly appear in.

Both series have a person going into another world. That person, Yuri from kyou kara maou and Tokidoki from Amatsuki go into these  diferent world. Yuri becomes the king and Tokidoki just is the hero of the series. Both of these series have plenty of action and a lot of comedy. So, if you like one you'd like the other one.

Both series are about teenage boys who posess extreme powers and destined to become the leaders of other worlds they know nothing about.

Both of the main protagonists were common boys before something threw them into a world they knew nothing about. There, they learned they were the destined ruler of a magical realm that intertwined with their own. While Kyo Kara Maoh has demons, and Nabari no Ou has ninjas, both have copious amounts of bishounens.

Then he does go somewhere - where, he isn't sure, but it is a fantasy setting much like the game, though nothing looks familiar. He saves a princess and her followers upon his arrival from the sky, when he lands squarely upon the leader of the group threatening them. He ends up joining the princess's group as he searches for a way back to his own world.

Two hilarious titles where someone is thrust into an unfamiliar world and proceeds to make an ass out himself accidentally, with plenty of fun monsters and comedy to boot.

Both anime are about a teenage boy suddenly being dropped into a strange world very different from their own. The animation is also very similar. I think if you liked one or found it funny/interesting you would think the same of the other.

Both are adventure/fantasy/action type anime. Main characters are teenagers with demonic powers. Both incorporate humor throughout, but it does not take over the show (Kyo Kara Maoh! being the more comedic of the two). Also, they tend to play with yaoi themes, although neither are full-blown yaoi-- they just tease about it. The primary reason if you like one, you may like the other, lies in the beautiful and loveable character design and overall feel of the story.

Although Kyou Kara Maou is definitely a LOT more focused on comedic situations, both it and Capricorn excel in showing us a beautiful fantasy world with a protagonist who definitely shouldn't be there, but is forced to adapt anyways! Not to mention, these are both a great viewing anyways.

Gakuen Heaven and Kyo Kara Maoh are both shounen ai-centered anime, both of which center heavily on  relationships between the various characters. The romance and humor are also very similar, as both main characters (Yuuri in KKM and Keita in GH) are innocent, nice guys who are "thrown" into a different "world" than they are used to (literally in Yuuri's case). If you watched one and liked it, there's a good chance you would really enjoy the other!

Moyashimon

Moyashimon

Tadayasu Sawaki and his long-time hometown friend Kei Yuuki are finally away from home and ready to start university. They attend Tokyo's College of Agriculture, and the adventures start from day one! But that is to be expected, as Tadayasu has a special ability that is conducive to adventure and glory, especially in the world of agriculture and biology: the man can see, communicate, and interact with microbes! With ambitious sake-brewing upperclassmen, a sadistic postgraduate, and a clean-freak colleague, things can only become more exciting for the duo!

If you watch Kyou Kara Maou for the humor and the pretty people, you'd probably like Moyashimon.

It's a bit more on the serious/shounen side of the anime spectrum, but it still has cutesy and wtf? moments, and that little tiny dash of shounen-ai. [maybe even less than Kyou Kara Maou].

Fullmetal Alchemist

Fullmetal Alchemist

The key word here is epic.  Both shows do an incredible job of keeping you on your toes throughout and surprising you at every turn.  There is never a dull moment in either of them.  Both involve adventure, fighting, and friendship, and deal with issues like racism, trust, and the value of human lives.  Kyou Kara Maou is a little more lighthearted but both are incredible shows, and if you liked one, I'm sure you'll like the other.
