Whilst at first glance this may appear a strange recommendation to make, both of these series share some similarities. Aside from the shared mix of humour and plot, both Kyo Kara Maoh series 3 and Saiunkoku Monogatari series 2 have central characters who have accepted or gained their positions of power in their countries and are striving to make them better, whilst having to deal with the politics that surround them.

If you liked KKM! 3 you would also like Inuyasha because both contain a person going to and from different worlds, and they contain a somewhat alike offbeat humor.

His eye was damaged, but more importantly, Tokidoki discovered that he was now stuck inside the "virtual reality" filled with samurai and spirits. Now, with the help of Kuchiha, a warrior woman possessed by a dog spirit; and Shinonome, a fellow student who has been stuck, just like Tokidoki, for the past two years, Tokidoki must search for the truth behind the nue and try to find a way home.

The key word here is epic.  Both shows do an incredible job of keeping you on your toes throughout and surprising you at every turn.  There is never a dull moment in either of them.  Both involve adventure, fighting, and friendship, and deal with issues like racism, trust, and the value of human lives.  Kyou Kara Maou is a little more lighthearted but both are incredible shows, and if you liked one, I'm sure you'll like the other.

Maoyu: Archenemy & Hero

Maoyu: Archenemy & Hero

After many trials, the Hero has reached his destination: the throne room of the Demon King, where he hopes to end the war between the Demon and Human realms once and for all. What he finds, however, is not at all what he expected: the 'king' of the Demons is a woman, and a bouncy one at that - what's more, rather than fighting, she wishes to engage him in dialogue! She explains that he was never expected to succeed in his mission, because the war is perpetuated by parties in the human world who profit from it every day. Swayed by her arguments, he makes a pact with her to work toward peace for both their worlds. Together, they will better the lives of their people and create a world where war is no longer needed to ensure prosperity - despite those who would shed blood to keep the status quo.
