Kowabon ReviewKowabon is a supernatural, horror, and original work anime. It doesn't follow a plot of recurring characters, however the concept of the cameras capturing a female ghost [mainly] in which the humans cannot see.
StorylineIt doesn't necessarily follow a plot of the same characters, more rather it follows the cameras capturing ghosts. This is mainly taken by smartphones, security cameras, and cameras from laptops. I kind of like the concept of it because it gives mor suspense as to what could happen. Some of episodes are kind of repetitve with the same idea, just different scenerios and settings. The ghost(s) would mainly come around the two minute mark as for each episode. Each episode starts out like this: the day is going by normal, just doing what they are doing, and as the two minute mark starts, something would happen, such as the cameras being glitchy, lagging, showcasing something weird, the "creepy" ghost(s) appearing once in a while. As to say, this is kind of the concept of each episode, slightly twisted. CharactersThere's usually one character that is being "watched" by the ghost, or more rather the vicitim since they are the ones on camera, not knowing that a ghost(s) are there in the presence; and the other character actually being able to see the ghost(s). Sometimes, there will be a "creepy" character, but that depends on the plot. I must say that the acting is pretty decent and cool.
VisualsWhen I saw the visuals, it gave me an impression of me editing my photos using the most filters I can. I wouldn't say it's the best looking due ot because it is recorded and acted out in real life, and it can take time to make it more appealing. Also, the ghost(s) look weird to me, nothing too scary.
SoundmixingRealistic; in a sense of quality of the cameras and microphone.OverallI know a lot of people may of not liked it because it wasn't scary, the storyline was too bland, and so on. However, i actually kind of liked it. I know the story is repetitve in a way, but the idea of the cameras capturing something that we cannot see if kind of cool. It wasn't entirely scary as you may of guessed what might happen next based on the amount of episodes you might of watched and know what might happen, however I liked the different scenerios and the realistic idea of the amount of people actually using the electronic devices. I would actually re-watch it again since it was interesting to me. Would I recommend this? It's in between, honestly. If you like supernatural and horror, this is for you, but just know what was said above under Storyline and Characters. I would also say "no" because as said, under Storyline, it's the same concept for each episode.
