Down to its last member, the koto club will accept anyone who is interested in the traditional Japanese instrument. But when a delinquent and a prodigy player sign up, finding harmony isn’t going to be easy—especially not with ensemble competitions looming around the corner. With enough time and some incredible skill at the strings, perhaps this motley crew can strike a chord with the judges.
usually with music animes like this, they seem to exaggerate the effect of the music piece, however when watching tenkyuu, their piece for nationals qualifier, it really was beautiful and emotional, SPOILER: the scene afterwards with hozukis mum didn't help and made me cry. all of the characters had nice development with their ability to be around people but also their musical talent with the koto. you also see a more detailed insight to hozukis family's situation. personally there were no unlikeable characters, with the 3 idiots providing comic relief. i don't know if my favourite was hozuki or chika, so seeing romantic developments between the 2 was really nice but didn't become the main focus on the anime which was also good
I really love watching how these characters grow throughout this show. They have come so far, and I am so proud of them. There were times that my heart truly ached because of the challenges they faced. I also really love music. Tenkyuu is honestly one of the best pieces of music I have heard, I still can't help but listen to it on repeat. It is not only beautiful becuase of its sound, but that song holds all of their emotions and hardships and when I listen to it I just can't help but think of all the things that brought them to this moment. Truly a great show!
