Down to its last member, the koto club will accept anyone who is interested in the traditional Japanese instrument. But when a delinquent and a prodigy player sign up, finding harmony isn’t going to be easy—especially not with ensemble competitions looming around the corner. With enough time and some incredible skill at the strings, perhaps this motley crew can strike a chord with the judges.
usually with music animes like this, they seem to exaggerate the effect of the music piece, however when watching tenkyuu, their piece for nationals qualifier, it really was beautiful and emotional, SPOILER: the scene afterwards with hozukis mum didn't help and made me cry. all of the characters had nice development with their ability to be around people but also their musical talent with the koto. you also see a more detailed insight to hozukis family's situation. personally there were no unlikeable characters, with the 3 idiots providing comic relief. i don't know if my favourite was hozuki or chika, so seeing romantic developments between the 2 was really nice but didn't become the main focus on the anime which was also good
(spoilers) 1st season was better but dis was also enjoyable. tenkyuu was a beautiful piece. before they performed it, i was actually nervous for them. the heart beating in the scene didnt help lol. this season was a solid coclusion for the story. so even if u r too lazy to read the manga its ok. the ending of the anime wrapped up nicely so u dont feel incomplete. i loved when that judge mentioned that the most important thing is not the difficulty of the piece or being in sync, but whether u managed to touch the hearts of the listeners no matter how much they knew about music or not. i think that is a very powerful line
