One of my favorite animes that I've watched so far.

It's a very chill, calm and cute anime compared to all the past animes that I watched. I really adore the storyline, characters, etc.

Overall, I absolutely love this anime, can't wait for season 2!!! <3

There is something calming and reaffirming in the opening scenes of Komi Can’t Communicate, about the voice of the clinician who is explaining Komi's condition of not being able to speak with her peers, and here  she is, beginning those crucial high school years at Itan Private.

The two main characters contrast beautifully.  Both entering high school, they would be placed on the extreme edges of the social spectrum of any school.  The title character, Shouko Komi, is a gorgeous girl who has been afflicted with the inability to get a good round of stuttering going.  Dweebish Hitohito Tadano has one claim to fame ... the ability to 'read a room.'  It's a talent that his peers laugh off.  But Tadano does perceive Komi as a shy girl who has extreme difficulty in expressing herself.  In a scene of a conversation done up totally on a blackboard, Komi has gained her first friend in high school.

Komi has a dream, a goal, of gaining 100 friends in those golden years.  And Tadano becomes Komi's supporter in achieving just that.

There are two sad ironies in this whole deal.  Komi has the ability to gain the admiration of the whole school due to her aura of a stand-offish beauty.  But admirers are sorry substitutes for friendship, and Komi intuitively knows this.  Irony two: her class is filled to the rafters with 'strange types' Komi should avoid.  Characterization is a force to reckon with in this series, and the more bizarre, the better.  Start with Tadano's friend Najimi, a master (mistress?) of the social dynamic whose schemes are heart-warming (if not absolutely legal).  Ren, a girl whose longings for Komi aren't often honorable.  Mono, a boy who masks his face with a scarf (creepy eyes ... creepy eyes).  Omoharu, a chunibyou girl who pledges loyalty and honor to Komi as well as anyone engrained in D&D etiquette.  Agari, a girl whose goal in life is to be Komi's dog (I'm unworthy ... I'm unworthy).

It's intriguing that in the gratuitous 'swimsuit' episode in mid-season, that Komi has no hang-ups about her personal appearance once the first moments are past.  It's only in getting the words out that is frustrating.  But her voice actor, Aoi Koga, is a master (or, better here, mistress) of the bashful fluster.  The first season ends with Komi's shy 24-second effort to promote the next season (April 2022 ... looking forward to it).  A total of five words, a triumph for Komi!

The episodes are a combination of Tadano and Najimi's efforts to help Komi get those 100 friends, and those of meeting the challenges of high school life.  These twelve episodes are divided into over forty interactions nudging Komi forward.  But Komi has the glow of a goddess (Tadano can do the hard work of class president).  The class looks forward to the day Komi can wear the summer uniform.  Classmates can hear Komi as she battles the dreaded karaoke.  Mute as she is, her appearance carries her.

The animation technique is heavy into dark colors battling against the brightness of the day.  Symbolic of the situation Komi is in.  But the character designs of sophisticated Komi vs. the bug-eyed Komi in state of terror is supreme use of gifted imagination.  It's just one dysfunctional character after another, helping you to do nothing better than to cheer on Komi's muffed efforts and minor successes.

I'm going to be 100% honest, I loved Komi! The animation, the story, the comedy, the relatable situations (with her shyness), and the tiny hint of romance; I loved it all! 100% recommend Komi Cant Communicate. I always waited and waited for a new episode to release. It was *that* addicting! Besides the over-sexualization of some characters, I loved it.

Komi Can't Communicate is cute and all, but I don't like the fact that the only reason people like her and are being her friend is because shes quiet and pretty.

I think that I would like it more if her friends actually liked her instead of just being her friend for her looks, anyway the storys fine.
SPOILER ALERT!: Komi wanted to make 100 friends whole life, and so she did! Slowly though, the story follows Komi through her life as being a student and being the "Goddess" of the whole school. At certain times it could be rough because she has extreme social anxiety causing her to shake and look unfriendly to people.
END OF SPOILERS!: Overall Komi Can't Communicate has to be a seven.
The Story: Not the best, not the worst either.

The Animation: It's fine, it's not to special. (Seven)

The Sound: It's okay, not special either. (Seven)

The Charecters: I don't really like all the charecters but some of them I like because of how they help out Komi. (7)

The entire thing is just a 7 to me,

hope this helped,

cya.
