This was super adorable! Not exactly great, but a good way to kill a bit of time.

Obviously, with the short episodes, there isn't really that much time to develop the characters. They are two dimensional, and frankly quite unoriginal, but I still liked the majority of them. They were fun to watch at the very least.

The plot is not exactly the most original either - it's basically just about a kid who moves into a house of youkai. It's pretty cute, but nothing to get excited about.

Kiitaro's Youkai Picture Diary is hardly an original anime, but if you feel like watching something cute for a little while you might enjoy this.

Very cute show. Lots of fun. The girls are absolutely adorable, the youkai creatures are very peculiar (especially the lesser known ones) and their interactions with the main cast are entertaining. Wish this was a normal length series :( which is the only reason my score is lower than what I'd like to give it.

Kiitaro's Youkai Picture Diary is a simple story about a boy named Kiitarou that lives in a storehouse with his Zashiki Warashi companion, Suzu. The story is handled in 12 short episodes of 4 minutes where Kiitarou and Suzu get to interact with different youkai and learn a bit about them.

Due to this being a short form, the story is quite simple and the characters don't go through much development but are quite entertaining and cute to watch.

The anime has a nice, cute art style that's easy on the eyes fitting the overall calming feel of the anime but nothing that you have never seen before.
On the soundtrack department, Kiitaro does not have an OP, but does have a different ED for each episode. Overall I consider that the soundtrack did its job in this show.

As I mentioned before, the characters don't have much for development due to the short episodes in the anime, but I found them to be fun for a cute simple show like this one.

Overall, this anime is good for when you are feeling like watching something short and cute after watching too many plot-invested shows.
