Keroro is the 2014 flash series redux of Keroro Gunsou. Because it's a flash series, the episode length has been shortened to 3 minutes, making the full series just over an hour long. I was saddened by this.

Story

The same as the original (Keroro and his gang attempt to take over Pekopon, only to get into ridiculous situations and parody other anime), with a few new characters thrown in, refreshing some of the old scenarios.

Animation

The animation is much better than the original series, and the new art style is beauteous.

Sound

The awesome OP from Keroro Gunsou is replaced with a short jingle that's catchy enough to get stuck in my head. It irritates me that the song isn't actually that good.

The voice acting has not evolved from the original series, but that isn't neccesarily a bad thing, considering it was already pretty funny.

Characters

The new characters have their moments, though their personalities seem to be based on the pre-existing characters (Tomosu:Fuyuki, Keroro:Shin Keroro), which keeps them from adding very much variety to the cast.

Overall

I was surprised when I first saw the low ratings for this show, but halfway through watching it I started to understand.

Even if you're a big fan of the original series, you might be better off skipping this one. It's not really necessary, with the 200+ full-length episodes and the five movies...
