Daimidaler: Prince vs. Penguin Empire - Reviews

Why is this show so poorly rated? Sure it's not work of art but it's not that bad either. It's the kind of anime where you just sort of shut your brain off a little and enjoy yourself. The main character (for part of the series) is Koichi and he's the "openly perverted MC" that started to become more and more popular. The rest of the cast are at least okay and work off of him rather well. My one complain is for reasons I won't say for spoilers sake the focus of the series changes to a new MC for a good chunck of the series. This new MC in honestly rather annoying and is more your typical "Scared boy" type character although to his credit he does gather enough courage to protect his girlfriend.

Damidaler doesn't have anything special in terms of animation but it does look fairly good and serves it's purpose. The sounds suits the show well enough and the opening some especially I found to be catchy.

Overall this show is not a "must watch" but it deserves more love than it is getting and if you liked shows like Highschool DxD then you will probably enjoy this as well.

This anime is very underrated!

I start it for oppai (form creators of Highschool DxD – should be enough!), but suprise suprise! We get very good echhi mostly without story (who care about story in echhi anyway? Mostly it's repetitive) but we got parody instead!

All elements like sock-fetish, forever hard-on penguins :D, Mecha with one big arm (from fap? :D). Hi-ero - how about UFO controling earth and farming our sexual energy? Heard about such conspiracy theory? Well now you got parody of this! And a lot more other ridiculous metaphors.

Lack of ideas about main character? Must take some schematic of situations to fill story? No! Kill main character in half of series! Make new one ! :D instead copy-paste (well maybe we got some copying from Kurogane no Linebarrels).

And that slap in the face of japanese censorship! Haha „you you hypocrites” and „Eros for peace!” :D

This series isn't big production. It's simple and as promised simple echhi should be.. but we get even more, so in it's genere is very good production (but not top ofc). Lots of parody overwhelm story itself so i must say story is for 6/10, but contents per genre 9/10.

Characters are bold, straight and decisive (as i like) – much congrats for guy in 6ep who don't want oppai becouse love his girl, bravo! (in era of whore-friendly characters... respect for creators) characters 6/10.

Sound is very good, oldschool opening, and few good songs in it Technical sound are not highest but sufficient, ost is great! sound 8/10

Animation is sufficient, and get better form ep to ep, in last scene is very good 6/10.

If you like mecha, crazy mostly random story, and parody not of other anime, but real life in general you definitlly should give a shoot to this series.

This is arguably not the worst thing I've seen but I still hate it a lot...

It seems somebody at Studio TNK had watched too much Power Rangers and Highschool DxD and decided to put them in a blender and set on "puree" and I can't tell if they put in too much sugar or some of the blender blades broke off and got mixed into this drink... but either way it took me 5 months to finish this series given how awful it was since I absolutely refused to drop it. In the following sections I will not hesitate to spoil anything...

Plot

Basically earth is being attacked by the penguin empire and their robots, penguins are basically (virgin) men in penguin suits with massive boners (called "front tail" in-universe)... the story basically follows a formula similar to Power Rangers in the sense of "monster of the week" concept where the penguins tried to obtain "ero particles" (basically libido) which is used to give the penguins strength and powers up their giant mechas...

that was the entire plot of the story right there...

It's absolutely dumb and at times it reaches ludicrous levels (grope her boobs if you want some more libido to power the eponymous Daimidaler!) on of the top the amount of random English sprinkled in for no reason at all...

Did ever mention that the ending was an absolute cop out...

Animation

This is something that's actually pretty good, the animation style and colors used are very similar to that of Highschool DxD.

Sound

My god the amount of times I've heard the female characters making some serious moaning sounds and the sound effects of...

Way too much emphasis on that but the other sounds are pretty good I'll give them that.

Characters

The characters are so over the top at times it was fun when Kouichi Madanbashi and Kyoko Sonan are around at first and then stuff got real awful quick, and the moment when it hits the lowest point is where Kiriko Kiyuna and Shoma Ameku showed up, this is where I really want to kill myself and stop watching it...

On top of that Shoma looked a little bit too much like Makoto Ito from School Days...

Kiriko and Shoma are way too lovey dovey to the point of I want to kill both of them on sight so much...

I'm in the same boat as the administrator...

Overall

This show is just stupid, but then again the characters are so over the top they seem to acknowledge it and they make no effect to be serious at all...

This show is probably going to be a guilty pleasure at some point down the road...

But regardless of being a guilty pleasure of not, just stay away from this unless you want to use it to torture someone...

Seriously though don't take it seriously...
