Somewhere in the idyllic, World War 1-era Finnish countryside lives Katri, a poor yet happy and energetic young girl. With her father gone and mother working abroad, she lives and works in her grandparents' farm until, while she’s still just a child, unfortunate circumstances force her to go out on her own and make a living for herself. With the odds against her, Katri must rely on her quick wits, her charming nature and her trusty canine friend to help her find her place in the world.

reason almost i rated 5/10 because... i watch this series a lot and the story is simple, warm and good for education....so you not need to think it how old you are. even graphic is common and simple for 1984 even lower than like ghibli's studio anime at time and its look like similar to conan boy of the future and sound bg with moderator make this anime better than it looks in graphic ...i guess thats it... (correct me....of course)
