Each of these tv shows features the character who is fixated on the idea of becoming the strongest being on Earth. Hence they challenge every martial art imaginable, blades, firearms, all kinds of wild beasts, terrain itself even. All for the sake of proving that they are far beyond anything there is. More than that, they got the same character based on the legendary real life karateka. It's interesting to see where Baki got inspiration. Any of these anime presenting raging and roiling masculinity galore.

Both shows are filled with rigorous training in highland wilderness, streets, dojo, whenever possible. All for the sake of seeking out a formidable opponent to clash with. The notions of indominatable spirit and coming right back up every time one get sweeped off their feet predominant. The blind faith in living for the sport their adore no matter what life pitches character's way, too. They are just similar in spirit shows, I'd say.
