Timistime Timistime says...

both animes are about the girl teasing the boy. But nagatoro is 13+ whiles takagi is 7+. And in nagatoro the girl is meaner and the boy is alot more pathetic. but still both are funny

zoroslovingwife zoroslovingwife says...

The characters are alike along with the plot. they're super good comedy animes if you need a good laugh!

SirOreo SirOreo says...

Pretty much the same but nagatoro looks like hentai. Small amounts of continuity, but a overall a worthwhile experience. Male protagonist that keeps complaining beyond his control even though he is the source of the problem. Both female protagonists do deeply care about their victim, you do see a lot of that in nagatoro but a little less in tagaki. The only reason this blob of crap is here is because I need 100 characters.

AnimePixel AnimePixel says...

Slice of Life animes all about girls teasing guys because they have cute reactions.

In my opinion, though, Miss Naratoro is more hardcore and a sadist while Takagi-san is more innocent teasing: mild embarrassment.

If you like more drama and bigger reactions, then I recommend Miss Nagatoro because Takagi-san might just be boring for you.

On the other hand, if you just like heartwarming sweet, innocent cuteness, I recommend Takagi-san because Miss Nagatoro might just be too mean for you.

CodySenpai CodySenpai says...

If one likes either one of these sereis then they'll most likely enjoy the other due to the fact that

DTWM: older versions set in high schoiol

TMT: younger elementary/Middleschool crush

GenXotaku1971 GenXotaku1971 says...

They have definite parallels.  In Takagi-san, the girl is the mature one while her love interest is immature and can only see her as a rival in practical jokes.  In Nagatoro, the girl is the immature one....but still the teaser.  Nagatoro isn't really a bully, though, just a hyper-aggressive flirt.  She's falling in love with her senpai but very bad at expressing it appropriately and deflects embarassing moments of intimacy with a quick joke.  At bottom these are both very wholesome love stories with comedic moments.

JustAkeno JustAkeno says...

I watched Teasing Master Takagi-san, and have read the manga, and I must say that this is one of the most WHOLESOME anime I have ever come across.

'Don't Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro' is a very similar anime conceptually. Two people teasing each other. I think this is a wonderful concept that has infinite comedic and entertainment potential, as well as romantic potential.

Anime such as this can be of many genres, and masterfully execute them all at once, due to the simplicity and yet potential of the 'teasing' concept. If you liked either anime/manga, you're going to like the other one, there's no doubt about it.

Sebost Sebost says...

Both are romance-comedies where it's just some lighthearted wholesomeness, usually no major plot-development except for just the two mcs getting slighty closer to each other.

Leahchu Leahchu says...

The theme of these two anime boil down to the same concept: a girl likes a boy and decides that teasing/ribbing the boy is the best way to keep his attention! Each anime focuses on the day to day antics of these two budding romances and how the boy reacts/warms up to the misguided flirtings of the girl. Both anime have the boy be passive and nervous towards the girl, who is plucky and confident. Nagatoro focuses on high-schoolers and is a fair bit more 'cruel' in the beginning but by the end of it seems much less mean spirited. If one appeals to you, the other will be sure to hit that same niche for you! :)

Alpasar Alpasar says...

Its similar. First of all its the same studio. You will laugh a lot. The main difference is the duraction. Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san is 24 minutes which is a lot and it can tired you. Tonari no Seki-kun was only 11 minutes.

LadyHscy LadyHscy says...

The shows are similar as their both about a boy and a girl that sit near the window the only difference is in Seki-kun the boy is doing weird things that the girl finds distracting and in Takagi-san the girl is deliberately doing things to mess with the boy.

Crizy Crizy says...

Both animes are very similar, middle school student keeps teasing / distracting a classmate. (high school in Tonari no seki-kun but they totally look like they're in middle school)

Only difference being that in Tonari no Seki-kun it's a BOY distracting a girl classmate NOT ON PURPOSE while in Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san it's a GIRL teasing a boy classmate so it's obviously ON PURPOSE :3

Animescient Animescient says...

Both are daily life stories. While seki is constantly playing in class in Tonari no Seki-kun, he never gets caught getting Rokoi flustered in trouble instead. IN Karakai Jouzo no Takagi-san, Takagi teases Nishikata, gets Nishikata in trouble and never gets in trouble herself.

Inu230 Inu230 says...

Thinking. Thinking. Thinking.

One main character is full of thoughts.

The contrast is the gender. Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san features a boy ponderer while Tonari no Seki-kun focuses on Rumi, a girl.

Nishikata’s thoughts are force fed to the audience while Rumi’s serve as the audiences own curiosity about Seki’s behavior but both anime's use inner ramblings that rival Naruto.

As hard as it can be to focus on school work when there’s a certain somebody that just keeps distracting you academics fall by the wayside.

If you’ve even been there then these anime are for you. In either series relating to the worry-wort or to the seemingly unaffected counterpart should keep you interested till the end.

Really you’ll probably want more from both.

The animation style of both also features some cute characters and pretty much only the boy-girl pair matter. Other students are present, main setting is a classroom after all but they're like background music. Sometimes they have something to say but most of the time they're just there.

Innskip Innskip says...

For some reason they are similar, however there is no romantic podtext in this title. The one is creative and the other also gets swayed away and teased in the end.

Jayage Jayage says...

both are about boy and girl that are clearly in love but refuse to confess and instead they tease eachother in a battle of wits. both shows are also episodic and episodes are divided into several segments instead of focusing on one scenario each episode.

Ghostdog1521 Ghostdog1521 says...

Both feature two likable leads who are obviously in love competing in a battle of wits with their crushes.

Both are episodic in nature contains mini-vignettes within each episode.

While Teasing Master Takahi-San is far more innocent in its comedy than some of the “Three’s Company” style humor of Kaguya-Sama: Love is War both are very much full of heart.

Its easy too assume if you like one of these you’ll definitely enjoy the other.

AnimePixel AnimePixel says...

Both Anime is kind of about Love being war except one is more wholesome and it is more about a battle to make the other one embarrassed and the other anime is of two characters that are too prideful to admit they like each other so they try making the other one confess first.

Kamiofdreams Kamiofdreams says...

Both of these anime are a great watch if you are in the mood for an out-of-the-ordinary romantic comedy. With both being centered on young couples who clearly like each other but can never find the words to say it!

Kubo Won't Let Me Be Invisible

First year high schooler Junta Shiraishi is a mob character who goes unnoticed even when he's standing right next to you. But his classmate, "heroine-level beauty" Kubo, always notices him and is there to tease him. Anyone can become special to someone, but it might be a little too early to call these feelings "love." Perhaps this story is still two-steps from being a romantic comedy--let's call it a sweet comedy where a background character becomes visible!

Both the FL give similar vibes, openly showing their affection to the ML. Lots of cute scenes. A light-hearted romance anime with a fluffy adorable vibe. If you like one of these then you will absolutely love the other!

Highly recommended!!

AnimePixel AnimePixel says...

Both animes are about a guy getting teased by a girl who for some reason is interested/ fixated on him. The guy on the other hand is powerless to fight back and just accepts everything. Then they start to hang out a lot and spend time together.

Not only is the concept similar, the overall atmosphere of the show and the light hearted story in the slice of life format also adds to the innocent vibe.

Cute is the significant word to describe both these very likable anime.

While Senko-San may have some very mild adult humor, it’s nothing shocking to any average anime fan familiar to the comedy.

While one is magical and the other based in normal school life, these anime are very much designed to be peaceful, funny slice of life stories for those seeking a relief from stress or a warm fuzzy feeling.

Not devoid of story or character, both shows are styled to feature several short stories per episode featuring the leads in comical, romantic situations all while developing the characters and their relationships.

A cute, relaxing romantic comedy about a couple of students crushing on each other.

The first student is calm, collected, and knowingly likes the other student, but won't say anything about it.

The second student is frequently flustered, refuses to admit to having a crush, and kinda wants to embarrass the first student as "payback."

Their friends know more about what's going on than they do.
