Reasons you might like Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind...

Halex Halex says...

Kaina of the Great Snow Sea, is basically a retelling of Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, almost like an homage, following the same plot, twists & characters that made Nausicaa great.

However, Nausicaa is still the best of the two and I would recommend you to watch that first if you have never seen it. It is an amazing movie and Kaina just falls short.

Having said that, if you already watched Nausicaa like 100 times, then Kaina may prove a good alternative. Kaina has enough differences to make the experience worthwhile and is fun to see how they integrated all the elements into a new story.

Both series are set in post-apocalyptic worlds where nature poses a challenge for survival for the remnants of humanity. Giant insects threaten humanity in both, and humanity fights amongst themselves while the main characters seek to end the conflict. Both series have strong environmental themes as well.

a review for thease two is basically the same as giving one to kaina of the great snow sea compared to made in abyss since i basically get kind of the same feelings between all three of them and that would be climbing up and down with fantastical creatures every where you look makes them feel as though there giving off a bit of the same feeling of mystery and adventure but in ways that sets them apart from other shows making me feel as though the three shows just go together pretty well

The Fire Hunter

Due to a special weapon used in the Last War, human beings spontaneously burst into flame when merely getting close to a small source of fire. The only safe energy source for humanity lies within the bodies of flamelings, and the duty to hunt them falls to the sickle-wielding firecatchers who brave the depths of the great forest. Touko, a young girl from a paper-making town, finds herself in the forbidden forest, assailed by flamelings, when a flamecatcher rushes to protect her. In another place, a young capital-born boy named Koushi shelters his younger sister after losing his mother to factory poison.

Reasons you might like The Fire Hunter...

Akishima Akishima says...

The Fire Hunter and Kaina of the Great Snow Sea both feature strangely alien worlds where a natural element is in some way restricted- fire and water, respectively. Both feature isolated human communities where traversing between them is fraught with danger, as well as a search for a solution to the elemental problems facing their worlds. If you liked either anime, you might check out the other.
