Humanity’s remnants struggle to survive above the planet atop giant orbital spire trees, safe from the danger below. Rendered unlivable, the Great Snow Sea has turned the world into a no man’s land. While out hunting, young Kaina stumbles upon an unconscious girl who’s floated up from the surface. The discovery of this trespasser brings new hope for mankind’s future—and unimaginable danger!
The many unanswered questions may be why other reviews are unfavorable, however, this was a pretty cool show full of mystery. The main characters had some depth, though the focus was primarily on non-stop adventure and conflict. The planet's environment, weather and ecology were complex enough to feel like another charcter. In fact the planet is so harsh and inhospitable there is not enough time for any of the characters to do much but struggle to stay alive often at the peril of others. Bottom line, this is worth watching but definitely feels like an introduction to something greater, so some might feel a bit unfullfilled after viewing. I am really excited to see where Kaina of the Great Snow Sea: Star Sage take the story.
omg... This was a complete waste of my time. i kept watchign to see if there going to do anything insteresting with all the settings they introduced but that never happened. The plot is as basic as it can possibly be. there are goodguys who are good and badguys who are bad. The good goodguys defeat the bad badguys. Thats it. There are no twists. Is this a kids show or something?? The villain... good lord... that villain is the most laughably corny caricature ive ever seen in anime. His voice actor was hamming it up so bad all the time i was phyisically wincing whenever he was on screen. So freaking lame!!! This is a terrible show. do not watch it.
This show started out very strong. The world building and story concepts were truly immense. Very interesting and held my attention. But after about 5 episodes everything went downhill so fast, it spiralled and just exploded into nonsense. It's like the producer was changed out or something. Over all, I am very disappointed by the stupid ending. In fact, the last 5 episodes make very little sense and spend more time on things they don't need to. The last episode especially has a bunch of story choices and fixations that make no sense. It's possible the manga was more explorative into the story, but the anime bombed hard. I cannot recommend this show, sadly. However, if someone wants to use this world (minus the characters), say for a tabletop RPG... it's got real potential. Oh! One thing I really do like about this anime is the opening music. Telepath by Yorushika is the main reason I kept watching. It's such a good song
