Can a message Kazu brings back from his a-bomb survivor aunt in Hiroshima inspire his friend Hide to become a champion again?
Source: Youtube
Story: Teenager Kazu goes to visit his Aunt in Hiroshima, they wander around Hiroshima a bit and Kazu takes a message back to his depressed buddy in order to inspire him to win at pingpong/life. ... so yeah, nothing particularly complex, about as expected for a "modern message from a past event" drama, but it handles the subject matter well, with gravity and a fair amount of depth, especially considering the short episode. Animation: Simplistic, but adequate for the type of anime this is. Sound: Again, nothing special, but on the other hand nothing that didn't fit properly. Characters: Characters were surprisingly well fleshed out and easy to emotionally connect to. I wish a lot of full length anime would have characters you could actually give a damn about as quickly as this. Overall, definitely worth the 23 minutes it'll take out of your day to watch it. Anime Bingo Challenge has already borne fruit, I wouldn't have watched this without it!
