Fist of the North Star

Fist of the North Star

Battle aura? Blowing up heads? Aw Hell yeah, time to roll with the punches and watch one of these classics of Shonen smackdown.

Throwing blows with colorful characters and forceful vengence. Outrageous outfits and fantastic over the top action.

Seriously, even at it's age Fist of the Northstar might just be a title you can watch while anxiously awaiting next week's episode of Stardust.  Consequently, if you saw Fist of the Northstar and said to yourself "man they just don't make beafy ripped dudes fighting eachother anymore, then look no further than Jojo.

Like Jojo's Bizarre Adventure , Fist of the North Star features burly, manly men fighing against equally buff villains. Both also happen to be quite cheesy (in a good way) and have a penchant for overdramatizing. Fans of Jojo will definitely like Hokuto no Ken.

You could talk about the vampire theme being similar in both shows, but actually what is more similar is the general feel of the shows. Both have gorgeous animation, both are amazingly over the top, though Jojo doesn't take itself so seriously.

I honestly think that anyone who enjoyed one would enjoy the other, they are both brilliant shows.

Both Hellsing Ultimate and JoJo focuses on battles between people wielding awesome powers, but there are other, much more important similiarities between these two titles than that.

Both have a heavy focus on action, good direction and great visuals, and an overblown and bombastic feel that permeates the show. The casts consist mainly of larger than life characters that never shy away from breaking out in monologues or hamtastic dialogues.

Honestly, both are great fun, and if you liked either of then, it's a safe bet that you'll like the other one.

Forget for a moment that JJBA is a martial arts anime with horror undertones while TTGL is a mecha show. There are some qualities that both shows share, which has prompted me to make this recommendation. Fabulous animation, overtly masculine, great animation, a fun cast of characters, both heroes and villains, and pure unbribled awesome.

These are all things that both shows have, and if you liked one you should really try and watch the other show.
