Jingai-san no Yome is the perfect anime for when you want to show your friend a quick WTF show to make you both question your existence. Its premise is absolutely crazy, but everyone in the show plays it straight and seems to think that marrying off teenage boys as wives for monsters is completely normal. No attempt is made to explain it, nor does it need one since that would ruin the fun of it.
The episodes are pretty short, which is a blessing since after each one I was so brain dead that I could only watch in a distant haze as the crunchyroll autoplayer moved on to the next one.
The production also reflects the nature of the show--seemingly average with a few moments of pure wackness mixed in. Sometimes characters would make such a strange, janky movement that I legitimately couldn't tell what had just happened. Sometimes things would be shown in the background that have no logical explanation, like trees growing leaves in seconds, or something in someone's house that Really Shouldn't Be There.
The characters are incomprehensible; the degree to which they were okay with being the wives of monsters was confusing to say the least. Not gonna lie though, most of the couples had some cute moments that were nice.
Jingai-san no Yome is the kind of thing that can only exist in anime/manga. Is it furry? Is it BL? Is it illegal? Probably, and that's what makes it fun.
This is an anime with quirky loveable characters. The ability to like/love someone for their uniqueness rather then just their looks. The concept of the male being the wife is almost a BL anime line. The episodes are short, but entertaining.
I am a huge fan of How to Keep a Mummy and this show is pretty similar! Cute boys and cute creatures! It's wholesome and I love the style. Yeah, this anime is really short and the concept of the boys becoming "wives" to them is kinda weird but I'm a fan! Come in with an open mind and enjoy it at face value! It's a feel good type of anime.
This anime is so bizarre, yet so disgustingly adorable that I couldn't stop watching! It is borderline BL, which is a bit odd with most of the "husbands" being creatures, but it's so wholesome and cute you can't help but fall in love. The boys are sweet, and their husbands are downright precious! The marriage relationships are all so different, yet sweet in their own ways.
Yes, the episodes are super short, but this was the most enjoyable half hour or so of anime that I've watched lately. It's just so darn cute and leaves you with a warm, fuzzy feeling and the inability to stop smiling.
It has a very hard to understand story-line but you can tell it's there. The characters are very cute and I would reccomend this to anyone has nothing to do with their time. It is quite short but it's odd cuteness makes up for it. Overall I love this anime!! :D
