Banana Fish and Jie Yao are very similar animes in the regard that both center around LGBT themes and include elements of street gangs and crime in general, however the plots are quite different from each other. In Jie Yao, one could say that Cheng Ke is the equivalent of Eiji Okumura while Jiang Yu is the equivalent of Ash Lynx. (both are the "gangster" in the relationship, etc).

Basically two stories of a good boy who meets a gang leader from the wrong side of the tracks. Bromance ensues.

Though some may say that Banana Fish isn't REALLY a BL title, due to the fact that the relationship between Ash and Eiji is just heavily implied, both titles have a lot of suspense and a criminal element, as well as physical violence and relationships between the main characters that blur the line between platonic and romantic.

They are both Chinese anime with very subtle BL stuff. They are about very different things and themes and they take place in different kinds of worlds, but they both have the same kind of vibe.

Enrolled to treat his addiction, Hibiki had no idea that this Rehabilitation Facility is nothing more than a prison.
