Initial D Battle Stage When Initial D Battle Stage came to my table for a viewing, it came to my attention that it's title was not messing around. A consistent plot of race after race is this films entry into the franchise. The sad part is that they are merely short recaps from the previous series which I believe is quite boring having already watched a majority of the franchise. Animation is fairly smoother. CG of the cars looks a lot better than before but still don't drive it on home (no pun intended). Every opening of a recap race reminds me of starting a new match from Mortal Kombat. Soundtrack is actually a lot more entertaining. Using more of dance "para para" beats than what I consider failed attempts of Japanese rap rock is much more of inviting incantation to the series giving more impact to the races. The characters are the same through out the series. If you have been watching it from the being like I have then you would be well aware with who is who. Even though this ova is truly a recap. It is a must for the initial d fans.   PandaBeard!
