Reasons you might like Our Dreams at Dusk: Shimanami Tasogare...

MarsCBG MarsCBG says...

Both works deal with queer issues and coming to terms with oneself as something that society at large doesn't want you to be.

Our Dreams at Dusk deals with older characters and some more mature scenarios compared to the younger characters in Wandering Son but both are very frank in their depictions and do not treat their audience as naive but still show a hope for the future.

When I had my first period, the shock was excruciating. My mind lied to my own body, and I just wanted to die. I began to worry if I was a freak... But when I found out that I was not the only one through the internet, my world opened up. Even so, my own freedom was nowhere to be found at home."

Haikei, Seken-sama.

Haikei, Seken-sama.

Some 10 years or so ago, a high school student from a regional town named Rino Tachi went to an all-girls school, studied here and there, and enjoyed talking with his female friends. He was an "ordinary" girl, except for his pervasive feeling of unease within his body. A story of "love" set in a time that demanded even more conformity than now, about living one's fullest life while hiding the discontent. A story about searching for oneself.
