Both anime deal living with a cat. While Hora is a bl and the cat is personafied it shares similar themes to Roomate.

They both follow a writer who is stuck in their own world. Loneliness, and not making most of their life until a cat suddenly enters their life. The main characters lives are thrust into new situations and finding new and old friends and family. Their once lonely world brightens and they look forward to the future.

Disregarding the romance (what little there is), both anime are slice of life and very calming. A good way to relax after a very long day!

To be honest both shows don't relate that much, but Da Shu and A Mio are kinda like Asahi and Noya. Apart from that I feel like any haikyuu fan would enjoy Hora Mimi.

Both are wholsome BL anime with a catboy. Horamimi is more about romance and not about sex, and in Fudanshi Shoukan sex does get mentioned a lot. Nothings is shown, but there is a moment where we hear some noises that are presumebly sex noises.
