These are both shinto animes with possible pending destruction of the world.  They both have one girl at the center with several people around her at high school who support her.  There's also hints of romance in both.  If you enjoy one, you'll like the other!

KurenaiSun KurenaiSun says...

Both stories center around a young female with supernatural powers.  In Red Data Girl the protagonist is closely tied to a goddess and in Hiiro no Kakera, the lead is the Tamayori Princess (or Priestess) herself.  While both anime involve a girl protected by a male, Hiiro no Kakera leans more heavily towards the reverse harem genre as there are multiple 'Guardians' responsible for the safety of the Tamayori Princess.  The plots of both involve the journey to understand the powers of the main character and their impact on either saving or destroying the world and battling enemies with mystical techniques.

Also an anime with a girl who lives in a shrine, a little bit Reverse Harem, Action and Romance. If you like the princess thing and many different boys with a fantasy story then this is the right anime.

Both series feature a girl who is a special chosen one who is at first reluctant to take on her new role. Both protagonists are also surrounded by men who are destined to protect her and they have a similar group dynamic in both series. The team has to fight monsters using their powers, and the lead girl has discover her inner power to protect her new friends.

Both are targeted mainly at a teen female audience and focus on a female protagonist with a special power. Both females have to be protected by a group of good looking male characters with powers and/or excellent fighting abilities. Both anime are reverse harems with romance, fantasy and supernatural elements. They were also originally otome games. There are differences such as setting (one is set in Japan and the other a fictional fantasy world which might not appeal to some people) but if you like one of them then it is highly likely the other will appeal to you.

Both of these series feature a lead girl who is suddenly told she has unique powers and has a great destiny. She is thrown into a world she doesn't understand filled with terrifying monsters and a group of men who have sworn to protect her, whether they like it or not. Some of the group interactions are very similar and the tone is also very close.

Both of these animes involve the reverse harem and some bishies with supernatural abilities aiding a girl that until NOW didn't know she had powers. With world destruction on the line, the protagonists must come to terms with their new powers, budding love interests, and plot twists. If you like some interesting action scenes and girls that must overcome the odds, you'll like these two.

Both of these animes involve a girl that has the sealing powers of some long-gone person. And she's not exactlt the best with her new powers. Surrounding her are some powerful individuals, many of whom aren't completely human (several of whom are bishies). With the backdrop of rural countryside, and villains whose motive isn't exactly clear, but probably involves world domination, these animes are quite similar.

TrexNamedPantor TrexNamedPantor says...

they are both similar in plot having the main character be a female riencarnation of a very powerful preistes/princess. both have a group of friends that help to achieve the goal and of course both have two of the main characters develop an amazing love connection.

some of the differences is that inuyasha involves a love triangle and hiiro doesnt while in Hiiro the characters are fated to be toether whithout a choice and Inuyasha they all became friends and met along their journey.

These anime have key elements in common:

1. Both based upon a central female character who is thrust into a bizarre and unfamiliar position due to supernatual forces. Both must shoulder the burden of a serious supernatural threat and attempt to solve a vast issue

2. Both are surrounded by combat-focused characters (mainly men) who strive to protect her - even if they pretend not to get along with her

3. Both females possess a gentle nature which faces hardships and tests beyond any normal person

4. Both end up cultivating romantic feelings in those around them least likely to have them

Brave10 and Hiiro no Kakera although set in different periods have similar plots; one girl who has mystical powers which she doesn't fully understand is protected by a group of boys/men whom also have powers. Both deal with gods and Japanese history/mythology.Brave10 is more humurous than Hiiro no Kakera and contains more characters.Hiiro no Kakera is still airing and so far there has been little character/plot development.

Personally I love both and can't wait to see if there is another series of Brave10 and am loving Hiiro no Kakera!

I recommend these because the main protagonists are in very similar situations. They have recently found out that they are the descendant/reincarnation of a very powerful individual. However, tapping into that power isn't their greatest ability. So, they have a very special group of bishounens to protect them. With magic, ancient powers, and plenty of fighting, these animes are fairly similar.
