High Score is a short, 8 episode web series from DLE Inc. If you were to assume that this so called comedy were in fact humorous, you will be sorely dissapointed, but don't take my word for it, let's take a brief look at why High Score could quite possibly be one of the worst series I have ever had the misfortune to watch.

Story - 1/10:

The story of High Score is your typical Slice-of-Life, Highschool anime. Highschool kids doing more or less nothing for an entire episode. There isn't really much to say about a Slice-of-Life's story, much less one with only 8 episodes totalling at 24 minutes for the entire series. That's right, each episode lasts only 3 minutes so the plots are bound to be simple and rushed. Frankly, what little fragments of a story this show had I wasn't interested by them whatsoever.

Animation - 1/10:

The animation of High Score feels drab and lifeless. Sure, it has a wonderful contrast of vivid and bright colours which dart the screen but in terms of actual animation quality I find it to be rather appalling.

Sound - 2/10:

Personally, I hate this show's music; had the music been of a much higher standard I might have actually rated this higher, which is a shame because the voice acting presented in this series is not too poor of quality with the voice suiting the characters.

Characters - 1/10:

There's really not much to say about the characters. In such a short series it's unexpected for there to be any form of development but did the characters have to be such one dimensional atrocities? If I had to give an in depth description of the personalities for each of the characters presented in High Score I would have to respond with "bland".

Overall 1.25/10:

Overall I would say that High Score is not the series that I expected it to be, I first started to watch it with the hopes of it being a somewhat comedic lapse in between other series...what I got instead  was quite the opposite; a mediocre pile of putrid nonsense which should never have seen the light of day.

High Score, for me, not the high score I wanted to give.

Actually, when I started watching High Score i hoped it was something funny. Indeed it was, but not all the episodes.

Highscore you must watch if you have spare time and waiting for a new episode of other anime is released.

Something i appreciate in this anime is the style of the animantion and the characters which will not change during the short story lines.

I know that this "anime" isn't really meant to be something to take seriously, and that it's probably just something that someone (DLE) decided to make for kicks, but I really can't help despising it.

I wanted to write a review for this (first one evar!) cos there hasn't been any reviews yet and that's the main reason why I wanted to try it out for myself in the first place. I myself am the type to read reviews first before watching an entire series, so just to let anyone who's bothering reading this right now know - as far as I know there's only 3 episodes of High Score so far and each one is 3 mins. Quite short I know.

Delving more into personal opinion...
Alrightey, so I read some reviews that recommended it highly for the fact that it brings back a "nostalgic feeling", and that it was "short, sweet and absolutely hilarious". But I have yet to see what exactly is nostalgic about some selfish, vain girl that shares the same qualities as her boyfriend and sports pink hair. There's also the random acts of 'violence', wierd and short backstories, and flashy flash flash openings and endings.

Personally, I think the characters are shallow and just plain annoying. By the end of the three three-minute episodes I watched I found myself not giving a damn about them at all. The whole experience was more like "WTF is this" and "WTF am i doing even bothering with this".

But anyhow, that's just what I think. Others might like it and yeah, that's cool, but for me it was definitely just a waste of 9 mins -.-

The story is fairly basic; a school life anime similar to Lucky Star or Azumanga Daioh.

The animation is extremely poor however the character designs are well done.

The voices fit the characters well and add for comedic effect.

The characters have well developed personalities and although many are typical personalities found in anime, some are very original and unique.

An anime 8 episodes long, yet only 3 minutes each. Quite short, yes? Well, that's one of the things I liked about it. High Score won't take too much of your time, so it's especially good for those of you with short attention spans.

The main character's a self-conceited "Miss Popular" that shares the same characteristics with her boyfriend. Oh, and her parents are crazy, too.

I quite enjoyed the sound effects and the theme song, as it matched well with the show. The voices all suit the characters perfectly. Oddly enough, the theme song can actually be quite catchy. HI-SUUKOAAA HIISUKO-AA, HISUKOAAA~

Personally, what I liked most about High Score was its combination of odd humour plus the way the characters looked like rip-offs of Bleach. But in terms of humour, High Score is WAY more spontaneous than that anime. Random flashy openings & the out-of-nowhere acts of.. *giggles* "violence".

I'd recommend this to anyone who enjoys odd, random humour and wants to kill about half an hour with laughter and face-palming.
