After discovering that his orphanage was on the brink of closing due to financial stress, Finn, who was living freely on the streets, set out for a casino with the aim of making a fortune. However, nothing could have prepared Finn for the nightmare that was awaiting him. The world order can be controlled by a set of 52 X-Playing cards with the power to bestow different superhuman powers and abilities to the ones that possess them. With these cards, people can access the hidden power of the “buddy” that can be found within themselves. There is a secret group of players called High Card, who have been directly ordered by the king of Fourland to collect the cards that have been scattered throughout the kingdom, while moonlighting as employees of the luxury car maker Pinochle.

Another solid show wraps up this season, High card (thankfully a small name) is a decent show that lucky for the fans quickly announced a second season at the end. Now onto the show the animation.... works its not bad but it didnt really wow. the sound was mediocre so thats pretty par for the course. the characters are a frustrating they are almost ALL coined characters and the 50/50s are very annoying most of time which isnt a good thing. the story is all over the place becasue the MC really doesnt have one but instead the world just drags him into doing this instead of him driving the story forward. Yes the shows got some issues which makes it difficult to reccomend, still give it the old 3/4 episode watch if your tired of the kpop style characters or the lack of coherent story then drop it, it really doesnt improve the problems just sweeps them under the rug for other ones. thats it for the quick review, now to the more detailed spoiler free reivew alright the animation yeah there isnt much say, its consistent but not eye poping.  the sound is the same thing but thats normal Now to the characters, yes the 2 sided characters are all over and the only ones that break that rule here are 1 dimensional(butler and mfaia boss lvl 100). The bright colored playboy is a passive liar but loves his sister(girls dont trust a guy like this), the great-valued 2% "street kid" is just a sweet orphaned boy, the hooker dressed party girl is just looking for the right man and just wants love someone(guys do not trust a girl like this ). the list goes on and on for the enitre cast which once you notice it is impossible to unsee.  the story again doesnt exsit for the protagonist(At least not pending any spoilers), so there are only 2 story lines one is a simple race to the end of the rainbow(collect all the magical poker cards) and the other one isnt even alluded to until later. Which leads me into the next problem, a BUNCH of people die not characters to the story oh no that would imply consequences that type of story telling is becoming less and less common making the destruction porn and conficlt more grand and less meaningful for the whole run time. especially considereing theres is a telekinetic psycho who has zero remorse just lets people live because ... she just wasnt feeling violence on that one particular person? not great I dont reccomend this one, theres better shows to watch in this soft modern fantasy style. That wraps up this one if you do watch high card i hope you enjoy for everyone who made it this far thanks for the read and have a good one!
