Both series have both very light moments, and some heavy moments, all combined. Both will be enjoyable to watch, but if you pay attention, both will make you think a bit. One big contrast is that Hand Maid May has quite a bit more ecchi moments than Mahoraba does. So if you don't like ecchi, or require it in what you watch, then keep that in mind.

Both Hand Maid May and Rozen Maiden contain a range of light to medium-heavy atmospheres throughout the course of the series. They are both funny at times and dramatic at others. Each anime has its own bold and unique characters which contribute to an emotionally deep plot line. Finally, both anime focus on healing the heart of the boy who comes to own the doll.

Video Girl AI and Hand Maid May are both series that feature a lonely young man that ends up with an artifical human who helps him clean up his act while he pursues someone he has been attracted to for a long time. Over time, each male hero eventually develops feelings for the artificial human that has helped him out so much. If you enjoyed this in the one series, you are sure to enjoy it in the other.

I reccomend this anime because in both of the animes there is a guy who falls in love with an artificially created girl which is lives with him, This is the main reason buth the 2 animes are similar because of more than this. First of all in both of them the girl is created by a verry powerful organization which has some agents living with the main characters (in Rizelmine, Papa A,B,C and in Hand Maid May, the other female robots) besides all of the agents try to encourage the relationship between the main characters. On top of all this there is also a similarity in the "Bad guys". The main male "evil character" in both of them is rich and spoiled and the female "evil" character is connected with the organization which created the main character, and both of the "evil" characters work together because they like one of the main characters, Ther eis one more similarity between the "bad" guys but it will be too much of a spoiler if i say it :P.

Both of these shows feature adorable female robots, who while overcoming various challenges, try to help others as much as they can. They are dearly loved by all their friends, which makes for very cute stories.

While the tone of these two anime differ greatly, They do have some common elements. Both anime feature a "Jiminy Cricket" of sorts; a "smaller than life" helper, with wisdom beyond their stature. These assistants will help our main characters not only mature in their habits and attitude (more prominent in Hand Maid May) but also apparently took advanced cooking seminars with that little blue rat from "Ratatouille".

Both shows are about a normal human male who has tiny robot ladies helping him out with everyday life for some reason. Hand Maid May just has one little lady for the male lead where Busou Shinki's male lead has a whole harem full of little gals. That's all you really need to know. Check them out if you like this sort of thing.

I agree both Maid Team and Hand Maid May are very similar but not only due to the whole maid deal but also the harem feel they have to them and, of course, the defenseless main male leads. If you liked one I'm sure you'll love the other.
