Akira Akebono, a young boy who is competing in a robot tournament where many of the robots are capable of transforming into animal forms. Akira wants to win the ultimate prize, the Titan Belt, with the help of his group of robots, all of which are capable of forming into the robot Daigunder. Daigunder is the creation of Akira's father, Professor Hajime Akebono. Together with a girl named Haruka, they compete under the name of Team Akira. However, Team Akira faces opposition from not only their competition, but a robot named Ginzan who is under the control of the evil Professor Maelstrom.

In a parallel world exists a land called Beyondard, a more primitive land where humans and Net Navis coexist in the same field. In this land, two giant cyber beasts known as Gregar and Falzar are at war, and followers known as Zoanoroids do their biddings. A child-like Net Navi named Trill is the key to ending this war, but due to a rift in time and space, he has appeared in Japan, and the Zoanoroids begin appearing in pursuit. When Netto and his friends discover Trill, they vow to protect him at all costs, even if it means being stranded in Beyondard themselves.

Despite being very close to Agemaki, Sugata quietly disapproves this engagement since it was forced on to them due to a family tradition. The melancholic couple becomes a radiant trio as Takuto becomes not only their friend, but protector of the seals since he is none other than the Galactic Pretty Boy, gifted star driver of Tauburn, the 22nd cybody.
