Kamisama Kiss

Kamisama Kiss

Nanami used to live in a ramshackle apartment with her father - a man who spent half his time gambling and the other half hiding from debt collectors - until one day the scoundrel ran away, leaving his daughter hungry and homeless. That is, until she meets a mysterious stranger in the park who deems her the new goddess of a local shrine! Unfortunately...

Both of these animes are funny and feature kitsune main characters, as well as, other yokai type characters. Although, Gugure! Kokkuri-san is more 'slice of life' and Kamisama (Kiss) Hagimameshita is definately 'shoujo' style. If you like crazy family antics and endearing characters, you will enjoy both of these.

I totally agree with the first person that did this reccomendation. Endearing characters and funny situations on both sides in a similar setting.

Despite the face that Gugure is not a romantic comedy (Like Kamisama Kiss) It isn't so "far out of reach" to find your self liking both of these animes. Gugure is about an elementary student named Kohina who lives all alone. One day she accidentaly summons a fox spirit, who ends up playing surrogate mother to this lonely, cup noodle obsessed, "doll" like little girl.  Kamisama Kiss on the other hand is a romantic comedy about a teenage girl named Nanami.  She accidentaly becomes a land god, and ends up falling in love with her fox demon of a familiar.

Both of these have similar supernatural elements to them, and protagonists with foxes looking after them. If you're looking for more laughs than romance, then Gugure is what you need. However if you find yourself in the oposite position then watch Kamisama Kiss.

Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun

Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun

Chiyo Sakura, a high school girl who fell in love with the unrefined boy schoolmate Umetaro Nozaki, decides to be courageous one day and asks him out. Her feelings weren't conveyed properly, and before she knew it she ends up helping a particular job of his as an assistant... The series is a shojo manga boy comedy which centers around Nozaki, a high school...

This anime would be equal in terms of hilarious scenarios. The characters are easy to love and the romance that is blooming throughout the show causes you to cheer for the main character.

All in all, Gekkan Shoujou Nozaki-kun is a marvelous romance comedy show that will make you want more.

Both are fairly ridiculous comedies, with very little common sense involved, but some great characters. Sure, one of them is about manga and the other is about spirits, but if you enjoyed one you'll probably enjoy the other too.

Hozuki's Coolheadedness

Hozuki's Coolheadedness

Japanese Hell consists of 272 subdivisions, and the demon Hozuki is tasked with making sure they all run smoothly. Calm and level-headed, he efficiently navigates Hell's internal affairs while his boss, the Great King Enma, is busy judging the dead. Although Hozuki has a soft spot for cute animals and is known for his love of gardening Goldfish Flowers, he's...

Both episodic and focuses on supernatural themes. I also thought the main characters, and even some side characters, were refreshing in both of these anime, hard working and easily stressed kokkuri to hard working and strict hozuki, overall enjoyable to watch.

Differences would be that Hoozuki no reitetsu took place in mainly non-existent, (or at least as far a we know) places, while though still unrealistic, Gugure was on earth, in Japan. Also, while Gugure is about the daily life and various fetishes of the characters, Hoozuki is more about daily life in the underworld when you work there.

I both found these to be enjoyable comedies (comedy ONLY) that offered some dark humor, and cute characters, with ears, tails, and horns!

Both series are ridiculous comedies that focus on Japanese mythology. Some fairly crazy stuff goes on in both, although I would argue Hozuki no Reitetsu is slighly more crazy.
