These two stories are both similar in which there's a misunderstanding between humans against demons or witches in the Grimoire of Zero. The hero from Maoyuu Maou Yuusha is similar to the mercenary in the way they react to being teased and thier cobat prowess.

Both anime have strong loli characters (that look so similar I thought its a remake at first 10 minutes of Grimoire of Zero). Both are set in a fantasy world. Basically, if you like one you'll probably like the other.
