Both Requiem from the Darkness and Ayashi deal with the same theme: the main character lives between two worlds, and has to decide which one he wants to be in.  Both also deal with supernatural elements.

The two organizations in Ghost Hunt and Ayashi are alike -- banishing the supernatural from everyday life. Though TIAA is more political.

Both Tenpou Ibun Ayakashi Ayashi and Shounen Onmyouji have a main character whose abilities to defeat Youkai are suddenly awakened or realized. With this new twist, they are left to deal with a host of new problems, situations and comrades. Also, both anime involve a lot of cool fight scenes and clever imagery of Youkai.

Amatsuki

Amatsuki

When Tokidoki Rikugou donned a pair of virtual reality glasses and entered a Bakumatsu-era exhibit at a museum, he had no idea that his life would drastically change. While walking across a bridge in the fabricated reality, Tokidoki ran across a small being and a monster called a nue - and he was promptly attacked. His eye was damaged, but more importantly, Tokidoki discovered that he was now stuck inside the "virtual reality" filled with samurai and spirits. Now, with the help of Kuchiha, a warrior woman possessed by a dog spirit; and Shinonome, a fellow student who has been stuck, just like Tokidoki, for the past two years, Tokidoki must search for the truth behind the nue and try to find a way home.

Both series take place in roughly the same time period, involve the extermination of ayakashi, and address similar themes.  However, Amatsuki is a lot more light-hearted and fun than TIAA.

Although the tempo of the two shows is very different - Mononoke takes its time to tell a tale, whilst TIAA revels in moments of unadulterated action - both shows will appeal to a similar group of fans. If you enjoy a period tale with a good twist of the fantastical, all presented neatly in a package of superb animation, then TIAA and Mononoke will appeal to you.

Aquarion Logos

Aquarion Logos

Long ago, the human voice defined the true nature of everything. That is, until text came along and opened up the Logos World, a futuristic battlefield where monsters loom. These monsters, known as M.J.B.K., are spawned from texts injected with the magical syringe of Master Sougon, the mysterious gatekeeper of all written words. When these texts are injected, their concept on Earth is erased, and an M.J.B.K. is born in the Logos World. Lucky for humanity, there are a group of young-gun heroes known as the Verbalism Club who counter the text monsters with their Aquarion vectors and the art of voice. It's up to self-proclaimed savior Akira Kaibuki and the rest of the Verbalism Club to protect the world from being erased as long as their silly antics don't get in the way.

different genre, different plot, but if you take interest in stories that make use of the concept of kotodama, then you might want to check these out. in both, characters fight their enemies by physically altering the shape of letters in their names and taking away the name's properties. both also start off with monster of the week pattern.
