If you like cute boys that like cute boys, you'll like both Sukisyo and Gakuen Heaven. Both titles are based on boys' love games of the same name respectively, so this is cutesy shounen ai galore.

Nocturnalgloria Nocturnalgloria says...

Sukisho and Gakuen Heaven go hand and hand: both are yaoi/shounen-ai fests that use the gimmick of an all-male academy to inject a manifold of bishounen into the cast. These two series offer believable romances between male characters; Sukisho tends to be more hilarious even if it gets darker while Gakuen Heaven is cute and mostly harmless. Anyone who enjoyed one of these series is bound to appreciate the other.

TropicalSwirl TropicalSwirl says...

Both Sukisho and Gakuen Heaven take place in a school setting and have a wide variety of different and entertaining characters. They also have roughly the same amount of shonen-ai content in them. Also, the main characters in both have something from their past that they cannot remember and they slowly recall it over the course of the series.

These two shows remind me of one another quite a bit and if you liked one, you'll probably enjoy the other.

Ran Ran says...

Both anime have a dose of funny situations and take place in a school setting, and have the same amusing feeling. Sukisho has a more complex background story, whereas Gakuen Heaven is more centered on the relationship between the characters. Gakuen Heaven is also is a bit funnier and has a bigger variety of characters.

kawaiipie kawaiipie says...

Gakuen Heaven and Sukisho are light shounen ai comedy series with a high school setting. Sukisho isn't very good and is a little more confusing, but it's got a bit more shounen ai scenes, which makes it okay.

Sangokagome Sangokagome says...

Both of these lovely BL series were spawned from dating sim games with deeper plots than they let on. In the anime, they manage to keep the same light hearted feel, and have their serious tone as well!

cassiesheepgirl cassiesheepgirl says...

Both of these series are set in an all boys school and focus on the relationship between the two central characters. Gakuen Heaven and Sukisho both have a lot of comedy in them but they also contain a fair bit of drama and uncovering of secrets from the past. If you liked this in one then check out the other.

KiraRin KiraRin says...

Both set in schools with an unlikely protagonist surrounded by a plethora of beautiful bishounen, Sukisho and Gakuen Heaven are what I considered to be the weaker in the shounen-ai category. Although, what they lack in story, they make up for with some very sexy and handsome men. However, both seem to have a large fanbase and I think fans of one will definitely enjoy the other.

Seeking him out to demand an apology, Shuichi nevertheless sees other facets of Eiri’s personality. Nocturnalgloria Nocturnalgloria says...

Shounen-ai with a solid plot: Gravitation and Gakuen Heaven fit the description. Gravitation deals with the world of music, fame, and a very stormy romantic relationship between male leads; Gakuen Heaven is a school drama used to explore the considerably calmer involvement of two boys in love. Those who thought that Yuki and Shuichi were too at odds with each other to be believable should check out Gakuen Heaven; those who thought that GH was simply not random and angsty enough should give Gravitation a go.

Fujiko Fujiko says...

Both series are shounen ai and include all of the good things: bishounen (handsome guys) and romance. In both, a cute boy falls in love with a tall handsome guy (or the other way around) and you follow their difficult journey to be together. If you liked one of them, you'll surely like the other one as well.

kawaiipie kawaiipie says...

Both Gravi and GH are shounen ai series. Gravi is funnier and has a better plot, not to mention that Yuki Eiri makes it worth watching. But as a shounen ai fan you'll enjoy them both.

Day22 Day22 says...

Very similar characters and it has that same cutesy feel. I really like the way both these anime's seem to have the same problems but in different situations

skipola skipola says...

Both series are shonen-ai animes filled to the brim with cute guys! Also, if you liked the hyper opening theme to Gakuen Heaven, you'll probably enjoy many of Gravitation's songs.

Both Strawberry Panic and Gakuen Heaven are about a newcomer to a famous academy, who develops a special relationship with the chairman (or étoile) through various events and problematic situations. It can also be interesting to compare the slight differences between similar stories that are shonen ai and shojo ai.

Sangokagome Sangokagome says...

Gakuen Heaven is merely Strawberry Panic with women instead of men! With lots of lovely ladies and gentlemen all trying their best to get the man character's attention (and with the mysterious instances in each series that hint towards somehting more), these two series go together like a hand and glove!

I believe that this is the female version of Gakuen Heaven.

There, cut off from the outside world, Yuuta cohabitates with five lovely "Marginal Princes": student representative Joshua Grant, movie star Alfred "Red" Visconti, otaku Sylvain Clark, bespectacled Haruya Kobayashi, and Henri-Hughes de Saint Germaine. Through classes, investigations, and musical numbers galore, Yuuta will experience the life of a student alongside his handsome friends.

Marginal Prince is so so similar to Gakuen Heaven, except that in Marginal Prince the protagonist and the leading man don't have a past. The two anime are the most similar shounen-ai I've ever watched. Try to watch the first episode and compare the first episode to Gakuen Heaven, you'll be shocked, give it a try. The president of Gakuen Heaven rides a motorbike then picked up Keita, and in Marginal Prince the president also picks up the protagonist but not with a bike, with a white horse. hahahahah

koburi koburi says...

These shows are remarkably similar. The main character in both is the one "normal" guy in an elite boys' boarding school. Both shows have little going on by way of plot, some very mild shounen-ai, a bit of teen angst, and some light comedy. If you like one you'll probably like the other, but if you only watch one see "Marginal Prince" for its astoundingly cheesy musical numbers.

snivets snivets says...

An average MC finds himself at an elite private boarding school for boys. Both fall into that oh-so-light shounen-ai category which results in frustrated shipping, and both plots are yawn-worthy at best and cheesy at worst.

Both are shounen-ai with not a lot of 'action.' (Spoilers) In both shows the couple meets during their childhood and reunite at a later times in there lives. Both have pretty cute stories. Gakuen Heaven is pretty much a BL reverse harem. Since Super Lovers is more recent, the art and animation is better.

KoalaLover KoalaLover says...

Well... They both have these things in common.

1. Childhood Promise (Even though Super Lovers don't have the tag they did have a promise when they were younger...)

2. One Amnesia MC ( They remember later on though - always lol )

3. Comedy ( but Super Lovers has more of it in my opinion

Sorry.. that's pretty much it... besides the BL itself.

I think they are both great animes though. I would recommend both.~

I recommend both of these! I’ll start with the appeal of Super Lovers to me and how I think it relates to Gakuen Heaven. Then I’ll point out the differences with Gakuen Heaven and Super Lovers.

Personally, these two shows are great with compelling story lines and a reasonable plot. Sometimes in anime it can get confusing and awful, but not in these cases.

Super Lovers is about the relationship between two protagonists, Haru (the older one) and Ren (the youngest). When Ren was younger, Haru had a big impact on Ren’s life. I would say the same would go to Haru, and overtime it does, but Haru suffers a traumatic accident and looses his memories of his time with Ren for years.

Now you may be thinking How does this relate to Gakuen Heaven? Well here’s how.

The appeal to Super Lovers is how the relationship and chemistry with Haru and Ren thrives overtime. This is vitally important because Ren, who was abandoned as a child, doesn’t understand or make sense of certain things because he was an outcast. Now with Gakuen Heaven, or at least the TV show, the main protagonist Keito is accepted into a prestigious academy. This is great news... only one thing. He’s painfully average. Most of the show is him making unusual and unique friends and finding himself, eventually finding his long forgotten memories of his first love along the way.

This, is somewhat similar to Super Lovers.

However, in Gakuen Heaven, the constant stream of people reminded me of Dramatical Murder, a show popular from it’s (graphic) visual novel that allows the player to interact in a dating sim. I thought (at times) that some of the friends were planning on going for Keito. Thankfully, at the end of the day, the first love was revealed and it completely made sense.

I highly recommend these shows, no matter who you are. The music is entertaining, the plot makes sense, and the characters are wonderful. Even though Super Lovers has tough moments, in angst and in love, it still has comedy and it’s a great show. Gakuen Heaven is a more fluffy show with a mystery, a fun “try to guess who it is” show.

Please watch them

Princess Princess

Both Princess Princess and Gakuen Heaven are based on boys' love games of the same name respectively, so there's plenty of cutesy pretty-boy behaviour to be found here. Where Princess Princess is rather light on the actual shounen ai aspect, however, Gakuen Heaven makes it abundantly clear (and I quote, "A bunch of men together calls for some naked socializing!").

If you found yourself wanting a bit more out Princess Princess, Gakuen Heaven is for you. Conversely, if that series was too heavy on the gay ol' times, Princess Princess is less in-your-face about it. Despite the drag. Really.

Ran Ran says...

The humour of both series is very similar, from unexpected situations to ecchi references to the character interactions. Gakuen Heaven and Princess Princess both show the evolution of the character relationships, as well.

Gakuen Heaven and Junjou Romantica are yaoi romances set in a school environment. Plenty of humour and fluff dominate both titles. Gakuen Heaven, for all its innuendo, is considerably tame compared to more adult content in Junjou Romantica and both titles offer enough eye candy and comedy to share a common fanbase.

Though Junjou Romantica captured me more and had more romance to it, Gakuen Heaven is also enjoyable to watch (yaoi).

Gakuen Heaven and Kyo Kara Maoh are both shounen ai-centered anime, both of which center heavily on  relationships between the various characters. The romance and humor are also very similar, as both main characters (Yuuri in KKM and Keita in GH) are innocent, nice guys who are "thrown" into a different "world" than they are used to (literally in Yuuri's case). If you watched one and liked it, there's a good chance you would really enjoy the other!

Lesson XX

Lesson XX

High school life is good for Morifuji Shizuka. With good grades, popularity and a fair share of friends, he is not to be left wanting -- except for one thing. Although the all-important finals are around the corner, the one thing on Shizuka’s mind is his classmate, Ichitaro Sakura. But is this attraction real love, or simply something physical? And what will the innocent-minded Sakura think of another boy having feelings for him?

Nocturnalgloria Nocturnalgloria says...

Shounen-ai in a school setting is the basic outline of both titles. Gakuen Heaven has lively artwork and develops a rather convoluted subplot along the way, while Lesson XX is rather bland in terms of artistic content and deals almost exclusively with romance. Both follow the first stages of a romantic relationship between two male characters, and lavish on dramatic moments.
