Enthusiastic editor-in-chief Hana, serious Aki and their friends love manga so much that they've decided to start up a brand new manga magazine! Together, the new editors must find mangaka to work with, schedule photo shoots and perfect their typesetting, amongst other things. Little did the girls know that running a manga magazine would be more difficult...

Mangirl and GA have a similar style of comedy- silly and slightly spastic, as well as similar character types/interactions. Both are kind of about art (or the manga industry, which deals with art), and explore their topic with lots of humor as well as a slight educational leaning.
Ai, Mai and Mii are three would-be manga artists who can't seem to stay out of trouble, let alone complete a project! Whether they're having a one-off encounter with the forest dweller Yamu, becoming human sprinklers, entering manga battles or entering a doujinshi fair, the trio have fun one day at a time.

Both series focus on art (or in Ai Mai Mii, manga), but with a cutesy and comedic fashion. Both are heavily moe, and feature high doses of randomness. However, GA has some information put into it, whereas Ai Mai Mii does not.
In either case, if you liked one, the other may be enjoyable to you!
