With the wind and rain pummelling down upon him during a long journey, a man finds his coat has crumbled and his hat torn. Then, in the depths of self-pity he is reminded of a master of mad verse who once travelled the same lands. Now inspired, he writes of horses shaking the dew of their manes, harvesting rice fields in the fading light, and willow trees dropping their leaves.
