Noein: To Your Other Self

Noein: To Your Other Self

When Haruka, Yuu and their friends decided to go ghost hunting, they had no idea the "ghosts" they'd find would turn their lives upside down. Black-clad and wielding quantum powers, these knights from the future are after an artifact of immense power that they hope will save their dimension from destruction: the Dragon Torque; and Haruka seems to be the key. As factions within the knights violently disagree on how to proceed, Haruka and the gang are caught up in a fight with the Shangri La, in an existential battle where fates of entire universes are decided.

Both of these anime feature heavy reliance on understanding of causailty and time travel - albeit more relied upon in Noein.

Mirai Nikki includes the linear theory in which when you go back in time you and your past exist in the same spacetime, being able to create a "new future" in which you can both cause and interact with, as well as interact with your past self - something that would clearly cause a paradox, but that's neither here nor there...

Noein uses the theory where there are multiple parallel universes existing at the same time in the same space but out of phase, so as to remain separate. One can visit the paralell world - be it in the future or the past - and can only interact with the surroundings or oneself if in phase with the parallel universe.

If you can understand one you will understand the other.

Speed Grapher

Speed Grapher

Ten years have passed since the demise of the bubble economy, a time that polarized the world into two groups of people: the rich and the poor. In the present day, Saiga Tatsumi (a former war photographer) has been hired to investigate a secret club for the rich named the Roppongi Club, but he soon discovers secrets much darker than he’d ever imagined. With the help of a exploited goddess named Kagura, Saiga now possesses the power to kill by simply taking a photograph; but can he stay alive long enough to save her from her captors?

At first I didn't notice how similar these two anime were, but as soon as I started breaking each down, I started catching a lot of similarities. Both Speed Grapher and Future Diary set you up with the main male lead and very early on introduce you to the main female love interest. The main couple in each respective anime go through hardships and slowly begin to show signs of love as each series progresses (FD being more romance based than SG). They also both have a lot of action wether it's hand to hand or using their abilities/diaries, both tend to keep you on your toes. They have a very lucrative story and the voice acting is superb in my opinion. If you liked one I'm sure you'll love the other.

Karin

Karin

Karin is a vampire, but as fate would have it she is a freak among her own kind; for Karin doesn’t drink the blood of her counterparts – she is cursed to be a blood maker, forcing her to inject her extra blood into her victims. What’s worse is that if she doesn’t find an outlet for the blood in time, it explodes in a massive nose bleed of impressive volume. In Karin's twisted day-going state, she finds it nearly impossible to find safe victims; so, nose bleeds are a major problem. When transfer student and new classmate Usui Kenta proves to have exactly the kind of emotions her vampire nature most enjoys, she finds herself in comedic dire straights!

Chibi Vampire Karin and Future Diary both feature a girl with a secret and the construction of a cute yet confusing relationship. Slice of life with a little spice just the way I like em. The mood in Future Diary is much more serious more of the time than in Chibi Vampire Karin but they both at different points show how vicious each story can become. If you like one I'm sure you'll love the other.

Beyond the Boundary

Beyond the Boundary

In a world where supernatural beings known as youmu are hunted by Spirit World Warriors, Akihito lives an eventful life. He’s a half-breed from a human mother and a youmu father, and is immortal - a fact that saves his life on a regular basis, for his bespectacled classmate Mirai can’t seem to stop stabbing him in the chest. She’s a Spirit World Warrior with the power to control her blood, which she manifests into a sword; and with low self esteem about her abilities to hunt youmu, Mirai constantly uses Akihito as target practice. In hopes of being left alone, Akihito must now help Mirai gain confidence to take down sinister youmu.

You can't say that these anime's are similar, but let me explain.

Mirai Nikki is a story about a boy who has to choose between living as a god or die and lose the game. And then there's this girl that has so many secrets, her life is such a mess and...I don't know, so many feels in 26 episodes. There's a great story and a lot of likeable characters.

In Kyoukai no Kanata there is the girl Mirai and the guy Akhito. I think they're both similar to Yuno, with their "dark" secrets, and Yukki because of them taking care like Yukki. It's hard to explain without spoiling it. And plus, the story is very mysterious and the characters are likeable. There's also a lot of comedy in it

They're both very sad, made me cry like a baby...

ERASED

ERASED

Satoru Fujinuma is a reclusive part-timer with no plans for the future. What sets him apart from the other slackers in his town is an involuntary time travel ability that allows him to jump back several seconds in time in order to prevent accidents and even deaths. As incidents around town begin reminding Satoru of a childhood trauma he'd sooner forget, he finally begins to question what caused his ability to surface and whether or not it's powerful enough to change the past.

If you enjoyed watching the first series of danganronpa expect something similar for this new anime. I personally find mirai nikki or future diary very similar, since both are about survival and kind of gory animes. Also in both animes the characters are very likable.

Momokuri

Momokuri

Yuki Kurihara has finally been granted her wish of dating her crush Momo. At first glance, she just looks like a normal but very cute girl. However, she is in fact a maniac over Momo, taking notes of his activities and never missing the chance to see him in a cute moment. Momo, on the other hand, is inexperienced in love, and just wants to make Yuki happy.

While Momokuri and Future Diary have respectively light and dark tones and share different genres (the former being a peaceful slice of life romcom and the latter being bloody violent and action oriented), they share the same romantic plot where the main heroine stalks, is in love with, and obsesses the male protagonist.

Oh, and the name Yuki is given to the male lead in FD whereas it is given to the female lead in MK. Just a tiny tidbit I felt like throwing in.

I recommend these because they have similar amounts of action just one is an OVA, JACK follows the story of Kishou ARIMA and Taishi FURA and there teenhood and they're stories, they also make breif appearences in the Full Show "Tokyo Ghoul" to confront Ken KANEKI the main protagonist of the show. As for Mirai Nikki (Future Diaries) it shares a similar amount of action and drama in the anime as Tokyo Ghoul does along with the main protagonist suffering a very horrible tragedy which causes them to become very "badass".

Both shows feature a weak, naive guy who gets dragged to a high stakes game where his life is on the line and has to do his best to survive. Also in both shows the use of smartpones is very prominent due to the nature of the games. The main differece between both shows is the animation style and the language (Bloody Code is a chinese anime after all), but if you liked one and the differences between each show don't bother you at all then give the other a try.
