Before you watch After watching this movie, basically the first 25 minutes of the movie is just the fruit basket season 1-3 recap of the whole series. So if you are thinking of watching this without watching the series, just make sure you skip till about 25 or 30 minutes, it may give you some spoilers and ruin the series for you. Fruit Basket Prelude review As someone who watched the whole fruit basket series from season 1-3, I honestly loved this movie. It gave us a short backstory about the parent of Tohru Honda and what they were like before Tohru and after Tohru was born. The thing that’s amazing about Fruit Basket is that you get to focus on a bunch of characters that develop and grow as a character, even from a side character to just a best friend. They give you so much information and backstories about each character. This movie does the exact same thing but even better. Kyoko was such an amazing mother in the movie, it shows how much she cares about her daughter and how she is her responsibility. Her development grows from being a person who doesn’t care about anyone till someone who cares about her loved ones. I also love how Katsuya cared for Kyoko and how their development grows in this movie. This was probably one of the best anime movies that I watched in the AMC theaters and one of the movies where I don’t skip the after credits.

A must watch after you've seen the series. It's a great addition. I cried while watching the anime but i cried my soul out while watching this. It's worth it, i promise

The story was very beautiful..made me cry..Watch the series before the movie though..I felt the animation wasn't as good as the third (final) season..
