 Fish in a trap   Why is that  every time I play one of my favorite games Anime Roulette, I always seem to get the bullet. Surprisingly this anime was that bullet. Swimming!, was the two sentence plot description that was given. The plot was short and sweet so I thought I'd go for it. The bullet that is this anime is more like a meal hidden under its silver cover. Diving head first (sorry about the pun, ok really bad pun), A Karate Kid meets swimming tale I thought. Light and fluffy a feeling.. In a mere glimpse this film turned into quite interesting dark tale. Underage drinking, gambling, peer pressure, and male on male rape. Yes, male on male rape. I paused for a moment and said " where's the swimming?". I love completely false descriptions. Thankfully this 80's to the maxx! (good thing or bad thing, your choice) film threw me into quite a twisted tale loop. In the long run just your basic soap opera. For it being the 80's it had surprisingly decent audio and video quality. Not 1080p and sadly a soundtrack nothing to write home about, but I have seen and heard much worse from even newer anime. Adults only please. (not for the Pokemon crowd) For the fan of misleading plots. Mediocre at best with a hints of getting better. <div> PandaBeard!</div>

The animation and sound was okay. The story shows what could happen to someone when ends up meeting with some sketchy people which resulted in being forced to drink and smoke despite being a minor then later on, being raped. The idea of those two getting together even after the rape, is disgusting. I don't see how such a relationship would work or why the author thought of such an idea.

SPOILERS: The ONLY good thing about this anime is the animation was decent for early 90's BUT there was really no story to speak of. It was like it was the middle of an anime and we got to see 20 mins of the middle. It started off with 2 kids playing with a dog. See some rich guy, Yuuji standing there watching and next he's swimming in the school swim club. He gets a younger boy to go to a bar with his friends (they're all in HS) and pressure him to have 1 drink and take a puff of a cigarette (possibly laced with T? Maybe THC??) Boy leaves but next day or so the older group of guys push him on the ground in a park and main older guy, Yuuji,  rapes him. Rape may be too harsh a word bc younger guy never says no plus he puts his arms around and kisses Yuuji - so very confusing scene BUT they don't show ANYTHING so I'm not sure why people are making a HUGE DEAL about not getting that scene out of their head. It was VERY TAME IMO. Lasted 10 seconds maybe? Plus I think people are either A. Triggered or B. Really think these are based on a true story type of thing and forget this stuff is pure FANTASY as in made up stories. **Sorry, rant over** Then Yuuji says he can't hang out with his friends anymore and they all attack him -why, who knows. Anyways, that's basically what it's about. NOTHING. Ha I gave it 2.5 only bc the animation was decent for a 90's anime.
