Yu Arimura was a popular idol who fell in love with horse racing after seeing it for the first time. He drops showbiz for a saddle and joins a three-year-riding academy for aspiring jockeys. But it seems no matter where he goes, the cameras follow. Starting from square one, he struggles to learn how to ride and learns to ignore the paparazzi.

Laid-back country boy, Shun Kazanami, also joins the academy. Armed with only knowledge of horse racing gleened through radio broadcasts, he trades his straw hat for a riding helmet.

Amane Grace hails from a high-class English family racing family. He's a good rider and know-it-all, but doesn't want to be there.

I am a bit biased, since I love animals and horses, so I might be a bit soft in this review. 😎

This anime kept giving me surprises. The characters use a lot of English words, and sometimes entire phases. Amane uses a lot of Japanese accented English which makes sense since his character is from England and is probably bilingual. It's a nice touch in the anime.

Amane, Shun, Hayato, Yu, and Eri, all grow as horsemen and mature over the series.

And I'm happy to see that when it comes to information about the horses, they're pretty accurate. The one instructor knew his old horse just from its whinny. That can be true. A horse person can recognize their horse's neigh, just like anyone can recognize a family member's voice.

The music is catchy. I really loved the beginning and ending themes. They're upbeat, and have a K-pop sound. Even though I don't know the English lyrics, I love the songs.

My only complaint, would have to be that it's only thriteen episodes. I would have loved to see them in their twenties, as professional riders. It would be awsome to see them grow further, and ride against each other more in big races.

I need season two, please.

Amane and Shun are best boys.

PG-13.
