I will admit that when I first started watching Eureka Seven I didn't think that this was going to be a series that I was going to enjoy all that much.  Probably for the sole reason that I really did not like the characters all that much.  They annoyed me to no end.  I mean sure the story seemed like it was going to be somewhat interesting and I'm always up for a good mecha, but the characters just seemed to turn me off the series completely.  Though against my better judgement at the time I decided to stick with it and watch the series through to the end and I must say that this was one of the times that I was actually happy to be wrong.  The story was just about one of the best stories I had at the time ever seen.  With the series being 50 episodes long I wasn't exactly expecting a whole lot from the story.  Sure it's 50 episodes long but that's a long time for series to find a place for the story to start to drag in.  Most series that are only 20 something episodes long usually start to drag somewhere in the middle.  But thankfully Eureka Seven seems to have had found some way to avoid this from happening though I will say that there were problems with the pacing of the story that can become quite bothersome, but something like that would really depend on the viewer.  Really the main thing with the story of Eureka Seven is that it seems to try to create the prefect blend of action, comedy, and romance to form a story that is unbelievable by all imagination.  Though this does actually end up hurting the series to a somewhat noticeable degree as the viewer in one episode is treated the fast-paced battle between mecha, but then in the next episode we are left with the much slower pace of a romantic drama.  While not a major flaw with the story it can still become quite bothersome at times.  The animation as a whole still looks good even when compared to some of the things that have come out recently and really I think a person would be hard pressed to find someone who would say that it didn't to at least a small degree look quite good.  The soundtrack is definitely one of the major highlightes of the series.  With the opening and endings still even to this day being among some of my more favorite songs.  Then also considering the fact that the soundtrack seemed the fit the series prefectly always able seemingly fit the mood that the scene was trying to express.  Overall Eureka Seven is one of those series that while it may not be for everyone those who do give it enough of a chance are sure to come to enjoy it.

As I said before, I am not one for romance. So do not blame me if I bash it slightly in any of my reviews.

The Story- 7.5 The story was an interesting tell from beginning to end. I liked that it showed some inner conflicted and didn't make it sound so.. well embaressing like most. It also didn't through a ' I-love-You' and ' I-love-You-to' right off the bat, instead they let it grow and blossom to full term during the series. Now this story was a show of true romance and I quite enjoyed it, but it did have it fault where some scenes were unnessacary, and parts of the story were what I felt left out. But it was good and I enjoyed it, yet I shifted ever so slight with my opinion so it was rated as such.

The Animation- 8 I liked the animation to. Though it was overlly bright for my liking but it was good. The emotions can be shown on their faces and they didn't over do it, they showed fantastic battle scenes, blood, and color throughout the whole event. I think the openings were the most rememberable of the entier story though.

Sound- 6.3 The sound was alright, but it did miss it mark a few times. I also felt that it sometimes didn't match and that some of the voice actors sounded lazy. It could have been better to put it buntly, but it was fair as well as was it poor.

Characters- 6 The characters were fair in my opinion. They showed inner conflicted with themselves, they over did the suicidal tendencies a little bit much but they were alright. I didn't mind them much sometimes my attention were distracted by what was going on in the background, so there was another fault, your suppose to be able to have your attention on the main character's at all times but they made me loose boredom quite soon.

My Overall Rating for this- 6.8. Why a six point eight, well I gave you two reasons why the character's and sound. As I said I found my self annoyed with the sound at the best of times and the character's weren't any better, the animation was also lacking in some places but the story was good. So It was fair as well as was it very likeable.

This is my favorite series, so expect some favortism from me on this series.

The story is pretty good. It follows 14 year old Renton Thurston, a beginner lifter, a form of surfing in the sky, his adventures with his idol Holland Novak and the famous Gekko State,  as they run from the military power in the land, and with his love of the awkward Eureka, a girl that crashes into his grandfather's house with her L(ight)F(inding)O(bject) Nirvash, a mecha that lifts as well, and where Renton's story begins. The story rarely moves off course and has plenty to offer for those into Military Dramas, Mecha, and romance genres.

The characters are pretty diverse. Gekko State are band of rebels against the military, and consist of a wide group of characters. Holland Novak the amazing lifter that was an old military leader, Talho the pilot that likes to command the group and is the pilot of the Gekko State. Eureka the weird girl that seems to have the an ability to talk to L.F.Os and though having adopted children, Maurice, Mater, and Link, seems to like to be around Nirvash. There is also many those in the Military, The Federation, that have their part in the story, mostly Anemone, a failed copy of Eureka, Dominic, the one that falls in love with Anemone, and Dewey, the bad guy of the series.

The music to the series is pretty good. The openings are well done, and the ending have that feeling of anime ending. The big part of the music though is the soundtrack in the episode, it is well done and really brings out the series.

The artwork is brilliant and looks really good, but what else would you expect from Bones.

Now I am not going to spoil the ending, that is not why this category is on here, but I will say that the ending is very satisfying and with the feeling that the series could continue really allows you to be willing to watch the series again.

Story

Good, but gets lost slightly. The show starts of well and handles the pretty standard themes in a way that makes it great to watch. Then there is a turn for the worse. This may coincide with the building number of questions you have and the realisation that they won't get answered.

Animation

Awesome imagery. The setting is amazingly well detailed and the animation throughout is top class. It is very good to look at.

Sound

The voicing could be better but the music is well matched and excellent in its own right.

Characters

Some good, some bad and no real development. Some of the characters are done very well and you get a real glimpse of their complex lives. Some are not. The antagonist has no real weight and the protaganist is very very annoying, kind of the shows spoilt toddler.

Overall

Very changeable. Excellence mixed in with with some mediocrity. It is far from great but should still be watched.

A great story above childhood love in a surrounding that simply just does not allow children to be children. The main character "Rentin" gets thrust into a world he has been dreaming of but soon realises it is not all it was cracked up to be. He discovers Love, Fear, Gain and Loss Along his path but inevitably discovers himself and what he is meant to do with the love of his life. However!, The person of his affections isn't quite the same. She's different and is certainly not like the others. Her story is the greatest! Like watching a blank wall become a masterpiece right in front of your eyes.

Eureka is happy at first when Rentin enters her life but soon starts learning from him, Her story too is one of a journey into herself. Finding from Rentin she has strength in love but also a weakness when it's torn away.

All this story entwined round some great Mech "LFOs'" battles and some brilliant sub plots make for some great entertainment that will keep you watching the entire saga!.
