While both of these movies are Korean animations, they also have somewhat of a similar feel... beautiful eye candy, with fairly shallow characters that you can't get attached to... but still worth watching to check out the visual effects ;)

Aside from both being made by a Korean animation studio, the special effects and lack of heavy plot are very similar in these. Elysium has a lot of cool special effects, but the way Wonderful Days blends CG and Cell is beautiful. Mostly for eye-candy, but watch them, they are not a waste of time if you liked the other.

Vexille: 2077 Isolation of Japan

Vexille: 2077 Isolation of Japan

Disturbed by Japan’s emergence as the de facto world leader in robotics, the United Nations instituted an international treaty requiring stringent regulations. When vocal objections failed to overturn the decision, Japan chose to withdraw from the UN and vanished from world view in a self-imposed isolation made possible by an impenetrable electromagnetic barrier. Now, ten years later in 2067, the only means of contact between Japan and the world belongs to Daiwa Heavy Industries, a powerful corporation monopolizing the world’s robotics market. The uneasy truce comes under question when SWORD, a U.S. special forces unit, finds disturbing evidence that Japan may have sinister designs for the rest of the world. SWORD must now infiltrate Japan to separate fact from fiction, but is anyone prepared for the truth?

I'll be frank I found Elysium to be completely atrocious. But if you enjoy CGI sci-fi spectacles big on action and light on everything else, Vexille is sure to satisfy you a whole lot more than Elysium did - even if you don't greatly care for this either it's hardly the soul-searing abomination that I found Elysium to be.

But no really if you liked Elysium this is more of the same only a whole lot better.
