Both shows feature magic and magical beings, pastoral European settings, and the stories include solving problems that revolve around magic. Both have some romantic tension between the lead characters.

Magic, fairies, and wondrous beings. Plus, a sweet tinge of romance, let's not forget romance.

Both have girl characters with red hair and take place in England. Both take place in a world where magic is not really seen by most people any more. Both series have the young girl helping a male character through an incredible journey while learning about themselves.

In order to bridge the gap between humans and youkai, The Ministry of Spirit Affairs was formed. Military man Kei Agemaki is assigned to the new unit and seems to be the ideal candidate. These anime are both about myths/magic. They both involve spirits. Both stories are centered around a guy and a girl. They don't know much about each other at first but as time passes by they come to have a liking with each other and they help each other out. In both anime, the girl doesn't really seem to like the guy as much in the beginning, but the guy somehow is charming.

Both female heroines hate each themselves and the male heroes are such bishies! Also, the romance is subtle in both cases. Both are supernatural.

However, Otome Youkai Zakuro is a bit darker (deals with issues like racial/species inequality and prejudice with the youkai).

If you occasionally like to indulge in girly fluffiness, Earl and Fairy and Tsubasa will both satisfy those needs. Packed full of dashing bishounen rushing to aid the beautiful heroine, there is love and romance, action and chivalry - enough to make any fangirls knees tremble.

If you like fantasy and magic, both of these shows are highly enjoyable examples that you should watch.
