It's potluck time for Durarara!!. Mikado receives a message from Celty asking him to come over. What could she want? Surprise! It’s a group luncheon. Sound familiar? If you’ve watched Durarara!! X2 then it should. This ep piggybacks episode 4. After the dejavu of meal time it delves into side and backstory for some time before returning to the bloated bellies of the present. If you’re a fan of Durarara!! Then there’s no reason to skip this.  Especially if you’re a fan of Mikado and Masami and their relationship before reuniting in Ikebukuro. Shizuo and want to learn more about his school days with Izyaya, Shinra, and his elusive brother. This ep provides an incident from Mikado and Masami’s childhood and Shizuo’s life pre-blonde is explored a bit more. All the characters have a heart that motivates them to do what they do and this intermission ep was created to give fans more to love. While it might not give all that much in regards to progressing the story and it doesn’t have to be watched before ep 5 Durarara!! X2 or even before continuing to Durarara!! X2 The Second Arc it still provides a decent story with more glimpses into the past. More new material and less replayed scenes from episode 4 would have been nice though.
